AuthorQuestions related to Thieves Guild
Hello all

I have got 80 diamonds for Thieves Guild.. WIll start playing from Lvl 6
As i will be playing 1st time , I need some help on it

1) What arts should i use? min ap , semi full ap or full ap
2) How it works? I mean how i can attack a player or caravan

And any other useful tips plz that would be beneficial :)
Check the TG tutorials here :

It is better suggest to start with min ap until tg2 and continue with med ap .
1) U can easily manage with min arts till u reach TG 3

2)U just have to click on an adjacent location...Like say if u r in empire capital n want to place ambush between Empire capital <-> East river then simply click on tht location n u can set ambush either a solo ambush or a dual ambush. After tht it will search for either caravens or players travelling by tht route :)
1. Up to you. Full ap is more beneficial since it gives you a better win rate but obviously it is much more expensive than min ap. When you start thieves' guild, in the beginning you will win most of your battles even in min ap so I'd go with min ap.
2. You cannot control whether you attack a player or a caravan. That depends on how your ambush is triggered, which is done by players who are travelling.

There is different views on that. The most important thing you need to know is that TG uses a dynamic balancing system. This means that if you win the next ambush will be harder and if you lose the next ambush will be easier*

I personally use medium AP, but that is also to get a good winning chance against players if I catch one. I can also see good arguments for min AP or close to min AP. I would not recommend full AP as it will be very expensive in the long term.

2) How it works? I mean how i can attack a player or caravan
You press on an area next to the one you are standing and then you click setup ambush. When people travel between the two areas there will be a chance for an ambush to trigger. If you trigger an ambush then it cna both be PvP or PvE but will be PvE more often than PvP. You can also set up an duel ambush, this can be done with either a pre-set partner or an unknown partner. In duel ambush you can only get PvE ambush.

* They will only get easier if you kill a certain amount of the enemies armies. How much is unknown but a good rule of thump is to use faction points. It will be around 0,3 fsp needed to get reduced armies in next attack.
just take note that you can be counter-ambushed by Ranger guild member
2. You cannot control whether you attack a player or a caravan

double ambush (either by pre-selected friend or random partner) will give a 100% chance to catch two AI caravans.

For me personally i only do dual ambushes, thus i will only do PvE and can use min AP, since i will not need medium or high AP to kill players if I cant catch them. And if your partner also has min AP, you ll get more fsp than if your partner has full AP. So it is best to try and find a friend that also wants to do dual ambushes in min AP if you go this route.
I am at TG level 4 (almost 4).

I mostly play min AP battles and i enjoy them more than full AP ones, simply because i dont have remorses afterwards :)
I dont find any reason for me to play in mid-full AP, due to the fights having dynamic balance and thus ending up with exactly the same win/loss % ratio (the more you win, the harder it gets).

Moreover, in the event that you catch a real player in ambush, they usually have min AP and thus you have a huge advantage over them simply due to the battlefield positioning.
Well I always play in mid/high gear just because I like to win.
The more you win, the more fsp you gain..

For example, normal CL 15's get 1.70 fsp per win (with abu bakir) I get about 2.10 per win.. And then I'm talking about solo thiefs..

Its all a matter of what you prefer. Some prefer min AP but they get less fsp then one who playes max ap.

I want much FSP so max AP it is.
Just be sure that you get more than 0.3 fsp for a loss. If it happens a lot that you don't get that much, I suggest you get some more ap until almost all your losses get more than 0.3 fsp. But this is probably not a problem on level 6.
Maximum AP only for me (high AP means high winning rate means more TG/XP). Solo only (having partner grants more XP for the same TG). And only with Tavern drink active. And only with Abu-Bakir's Charm active. And only with my strongest faction.

I'm not a normal player. XD
oh great thanks all..

so what is/are best place(s) to set ambush in?
