Author | How do you play group battles with russians? |
I can't even understand what they are talking about, even with google translate. This is pretty frustrating because I can't even tell if they are trying to strategize with me in group battles, or yelling at me. |
The best you can do is copy and paste in Google translate. You might try joining a GB with a 60 second timer,so you have more time to translate. |
Some russians speak English, or use translators to understand English-speaking players so you could try speaking in English. You can try using coordinates for the squares/tiles in the battle if you want them to attack a stack on the corresponding coordinate (example: 2:5 which means second column, fifth row). Other than that, there's not much you can do. I suggest trying to find a team mate who speaks English for group battles. |

You could also try learning some common slang to try and communicate with them.
I usually try the co-ordinates for the squares/tiles in battle. If you hover over them, you will see the co-ordinates in the bottom left. If you want the stack of 23 gargs to move to a certain square to attack, just say 23 garg to 4:15 or something.
It can be frustrating to try and communicate sometimes, I always hope that there is a Russian there that can speak at least some English :) |
Most time you cant understand what they talk and vice versa. Also, translating through google translator also wont work that much good... I tried a lot... What google translator fails is translating units name, spells... If someone create a forum topic for units in game into russian translation, alike hitchhikers guild, it would be very much useful... |
If you come across healthy Russian Players you can always use Google Translate. You can translate from Russian to English, type in English, and hope that the receiver uses a translator to convert it back to Russian.
I have had smooth communications many a times in this manner.
Ofc, many a times just typing in the co-ordinates as Corey said, does the charm. |
translate this line to russian
Hello. I do not speak Russian. Please write the coordinates.
when the battle starts copy russian text |
@5 I agree, if someone could make something alike hitchhikers guide, that would be VERY helpful. |
just sayn "english please" |
If you come across healthy Russian Players
interesting, then what about the unhealthy Russian Players, do we still use Google Translate? |
what about the unhealthy Russian Players
You don't bother communicating then, and just hope they make the best possible moves. It is obv, if someone hasn't responded to you in 3-4 attempts, we should stop trying as well. |
I find it very amusing that post #4 have a link to a "hitchhikers guide" and both post #5 and #8 is asking for one. |
@post 12,
And I think you misunderstood my point.....
I was asking for both Russian words along with English words...
Just wanted to be clear, better read it again...
Or its alright, then try translation of all units from the forum thread you are talking about. .. ;-) |
ive got it... learn Russian :P |
If your ally is a Russian speaker, ask him to translate everything important he is trying to say (regarding team strategy and tactics) for you.
Most Russians know the basics at least (while those who speak English fluently are a rare minority). |
