hey guys..umm in some fights when i cast delay for example 4 turns nothing usually happens? i mean like if i casted delay nd it says for example swordmen delay for 4 turns yet they still didnt move back, do i need highter spell power or something for them to actually move back? | [Post deleted by moderator Arctic // Yeah, not really right] | If your delay is not having an effect on the initiative bar, it's not strong enough. To have a larger effect, take darkness magic talents. They will increase the effect of all your darkness spells, including delay. However, keep in mind that sometimes the initiative of your target is too high for delay to have an immediate effect, so don't be surprised if you don't notice any change. | What Dragon Eater meant to say is, sometimes the initiative of the target is too low to get a visible influence from delay.
If, let's say, the initiative is 7, then a -40% from delay would only give a 2.8 initiative drop which would barely change the order of turns on the ini bar.
Now imagine a target with 20 base initiative. a -40% results in a 8 ini drop (!) which is absolutely certain to change a few positions even in the closest, visible section of the ini bar.
To sum up, the higher the initiative of a creature is, the more effective the delay or the rapid spell will be on it. Delaying/rapid-ing swordsmen isn't very effective in terms of absolute ini value. | oooh i understand it now :) thank you sll for the help you all made it clear to me :) | closed by Arctic (2014-01-03 05:34:10) |
