ok, so i am just curious:
Since i was invited in a military clan and was taking part in a defense, i tried to ask in chat to a fellow teammate:
"do you take the center? Or I?" textually.
After translating on google.com i made a copy-paste to reverse it and make sure it was the same. Had the same line as an aswer.
Then i post in chat.. and i get
23:01:13 [!Night-watch]private to guyb: You are banned for 15 min for foul language. You might as well get imposed a penalty.

What you said was fine, If I read it I'd have understood what do you wanted to say, so I dont understand that ban. |

It sometimes bans players who write russian in chat.
I always use translator and paste russian language when playing battles with russians and it has never happened to me. Is it really server-dependent (.com/.ru)? |

Did you speak in clan chat or in battle chat?
If i copy / paste any Russian words (even clan and player names) in clan chat, i always get the 15 minute ban.
In battlechat i never have this problem.
In battlechat you can speak any language.
It seems that in all public chats, on .com you can speak any language, except for Russian (?!) |
When you are logged into the English portal, auto-ban will prevent you from writing in cyrillic texts in every chat room except the VIP room (This room is shared between .RU and .Com portals).
Auto-ban will always ban you for 15 minutes. Cyrillic text is not the only reason it may ban you. If you use a recognisable (and common) swear word, it will ban you. At one time there were also a list of words that could get you banned by auto ban: These words were names of other online games which were censored. At the moment, I am not sure whether you will still get banned by auto-ban for using these words.
I would really like for clan chats to be the exemption to the English only rule, however I do not forsee the cyrillic ban being removed anytime soon with the attention chat gets as a feature of the game. |
