Author | Grand reprint of creature special abilities and talents |
Dear lordship,
I have performed a large revision through descriptions texts of creature abilities and talents. Right now, the texts in Flash and in showperkname.php pages are the most up-to-date and precise possible. The help section will be updated next, within 36 hours.
There are no changes in abilities and talents, all work exactly as before. If you notice an actual difference in the new text from what they used to be, take special note, it's the text that wasn't right.
I addressed several issues, not only typos and those imprecisions like a description saying 'attack increases' whereas actually damage was increasing, etc. I added specifications to several abilities, like specific numbers in such abilities as "Resurrect". We also resolved the issue with unclear affiliation of creatures. Right now, all abilities and talents are ruled in the following way:
Commanded - Creatures that were under your control in the beginning of combat (except those which switched sides through 'Treachery'), and those which joined you through 'Treachery'.
Friendly - Creatures of your teammates in any given combat.
Allied - jointly commanded and friendly creatures.
Enemy, hostile, opponent - creatures which do not belong to your combat party and are not under your protection.
I would like to ask you to report here should you find any faults in current descriptions that I could have missed, so that they are quickfixed and there are no more flaws. |

0,005 should be raplaced by 0.005 |
That's really region-wise. In US they rather commonly write 0,05 than 0.05. Even if I change that, there will be people thinking that version is wrong ;)

maybe add that the replicas in PvP fights can only be looted after victories. |
There seems to be a lot of usage of the word "insusceptible" which is not a English word that sees much common usage these days.
I think that using consistently using immune might be better - especially since "insusceptible" is used interchangeably in the "Immune to X" abilities.
How specific do you want these suggestions to be?
For example, in Battledive second sentence "Until that," should probably be "Until then,". This is because both "until" and "then" relate specifically to time, whereas "that" relates mainly to things.

Are there any holy school spells that deal damage?
Holy Vulnerability seems pointless, although I'll grant that it does add flavour and might perhaps be relevant to future planned developments.

Found the answer further down. Thrones have "Divine Retribution" which is a spell that deals holy damage.
To be fair though, Holy Vulnerability says that it applies only to *Holy School spells*, none of which deal damage. Divine Retribution is not currently defined as a Holy School spell which are outlined here - https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=31.

'Divine vengeance' and 'holy light'(Am I correct ?) were damage dealing spells of holy magic school in HOMM5. Have fun :) |
in homm6, there are a bunch of light-based damaging spells/abilities unlike in homm5, which makes the light/darkness vulnerability ability relevant
btw in the abilities page i also noticed some abilities that are supposed to be owned by homm6 creatures aka creatures of the past, but are not implemented in the creatures yet
flash - beaming spirit
trail of clouds/mist - aquatic drake/serpent |

Actually, we prefer the decimal point over the decimal comma. The comma is only when when talking thousands. Player banned by moderator MrBattleControl until 2014-03-15 21:50:38 // 1.7. In Denmark it is also used , for decimals. To me it always made more sense as , is more visible and the decimal point is more important that the optional use to indicate each thousands factor.
But in the end it is an international world as long as the page is consistent in its uses I think we are all clever enough to understand what is going on :o) |
Did you make the description of spells more clear ?
For example use a different term to ditinguish allied troops and own player's troops ? |
Are you going to make* |
That's really region-wise
It's region-wise yes, but there isn't any region that uses same punctuation for thousands and decimal part (gold / real numbers for example) |
In creature supertypes:
Elemental:
This creature isn't living; its Morale is always neutral. It is also insusceptible to poison, blinding, mind-affecting effects. It cannot be resurrected or healed.
* In ST they can be resurrected (orb of resurrection).
* Life cannot be drained from it. |
