Well, after battlemagi was introduced I couldn't resist this suggestion, so here it is :

Replace magi in vanguard of necromancers with battlemagi.

The suggestion is to change that and make it so that you protect a battlemagi (https://www.lordswm.com/army_info.php?name=battlemage).
