Author | Are TG battles supposed to lose money? |
I joined TG hoping to reap some money by "stealing". The level number as the multiplier of the winning looked so attractive.
So I've tried to TG with slightly-over-min artifacts. I could win more battles at levels 1 and 2, but the gain surely doesn't pay for the consumption. Had looked forward to level 3 to even the bill or maybe starting to earn money. But once in level 3 for a while, I found the winning percentage dropped to only about 50% with the same artifacts, even though the gain of a winning battle is 3 times of that at level 1.
So are the TG battles supposed to lose money? |
Every battle in this game is supposed to lose money. ;) The gold you receive always covers only a part of the costs. Only the laborer's guild really increases your gold. |
Kinda. You get good money with some arts and with the TGI though. |

You're wrong, every successful hunt battle before level 5 is free money as you're forced to fight with a weapon only after you get to that level. |
On high TG levels the gold won can cover the gold of the arts, but since it has dynamic balancing, you will only win about half of the combats (percentage depends on how much ap you use). Maybe you can have a total profit on very high levels, but keep in mind that the higher TG level you have the harder the battles get, so you kinda need to use more ap to get a better win ratio. So, in short, TG is a gold sink, although it's a very good investment to convert gold into fsp ;-) |
That's discouraging. So I can only earn money from labor and a small portion from successful hunts.
Then how do some players come up with the money to build up all the structures for all the factions? |
Lots of enrolling and/or market transactions - a lot of people underestimate the amount of gold you can earn through the market. |
And hunts are not the only combats where you can earn money - MG is quite profitable if you use min ap and sell the elements you get. |

Exactly. As an example, the Ring of Inspiration costs 1610 from the production facility "Signet-Ring Jewellery". When the supply for it is low (which happens quite often) it can be sold for 1900+ easily as many people just buy the topmost lot without looking at the price. even after tax you can make 250+ per transaction. Find other such items in the market which are in high demand (reprisal sword) and when the supply is low, sell them for a decent profit :) |

I made 2k profit by selling two shields in the past hour.
And i do this year around. |

Absolutely.
I made -2.5k loss just by selling 2 swords at lower price than I bought.
And I plan to do this all year around because it is so much fun.
Then how do some players come up with the money to build up all the structures for all the factions?
Few ways:
1. Donate
2. Enroll a lot
3. Trade rarities (and/or renting them)
4. Smithing (Huge initial investment though)
5. Roulette and cards
6. Sell resources to facilities
7. Market trade
Do #6 and #7 only if you have lot of time in hand. #7 requires good knowledge of market.
Best way to earn gold is a combination of #1, #2 and #3. |
