Author | Hero "Defend" - Make it useful. |
The option for the Hero to Defend needs to have some application in the game. It is practically as good as waiting twice. Defending with the hero has absolutely no effect on the game, let alone benefits.
My suggestion is to have some application to the defend function, such as +5% Defense to all troops when hero defends for 1 Turn.
We an also have talents in the future that give 10%, 15% bonus defense to troops instead when the hero defends.
Anything which makes the defend option useful in battle is my suggestion. |

perhaps, but can you imagine how powerful a defencive tribal would be if the hero defends and troops gain that much extra defence :X they are bad enough as it is.

nope, there are many hunts where I have to defend everything while waiting for hunt partner finish his quota ;) |

sure at the start maybe, but towards the end when hero has no mana, and is left with those horid cyclops, just imagine the defence on them... |

I would much prefer the button just being removed. Not often but I do sometimes click it by mistake when I want to open my spellbook. Would be much happier to only lose half a turn for being careless. |
+1 if the troops gets +5% attack when the hero attacks as well.

As a might hero that doesnt cast spells, you can pretty much just attack a random unit on the field with your hero and deal dmg that is mostly negligible.
Defending and giving your troops bonus stats would be too OP in return. A faction like holy knight has a special hero ability that does the same and you need to spend valuable TPs to be able to do it.
I like the general idea, it just needs to be "tweaked" a little bit.

maybe hero must choose only a creature to give the bonus.
and the chosen creature eg. receive 10% bonus for 1 hero turn.
likely the hero give moral support to the creature :P |
