UCL night!
Any fans here? |
for virtual_vitrea:
Lol yeah yeah on the surface it's very cliche but if you actually read/watch the series fully it's pretty interesting :)
Plus there have been theories for decades, and to finally see it being confirmed is quite exciting!
Wait till you get to the super plot twist of the boss beating him the first time, but then he comes back stronger than ever to win!
Omg that reeks of shounen like FT or OP or something... |
for Night Crawler:
I don't follow it, but I like Messi.
When is the soccer world cup btw? That's only time I somewhat follow soccer. |
UCL night!
Boring games.

Pretty much the basis of most manga / tv shows.. |
Btw speaking of anime, or any TV shows in general, why do people go on and rate it without having watched even a third of the show?
For example, only 6 out of 24 episodes of seven deadly sins S2 have aired and over 20k people have rated it already. This is annoying since the latter half of the season gets far more interesting.
And so many other shows get better after a while too. |

No no, that's a bad misunderstanding. Watch an anime like steins;gate and you'll see what I mean.
What you said refers to mainly shounen, especially cheesy/cringy shounen like FT or Black Clover (so far). Even in shounen there are decent ones like Seven deadly sins (mainly S2 and S3) and MHA.
However, shounen is only one genre of anime. Something like steins;gate is far different. |

Watched the Seven deadly sins.. its so mediocre. I have yet to see the entire season 2 but so far its boring.
I agree with your opinion on steins;gate however. Its a very special anime. |

Well in my opinion it gets much better, around mid-late 2nd season. But even then it depends on your taste, I doubt it'll as well received as FMAB or S;G. It's known to be one of the best shounen and I think it's well deserved.
You should try sticking till end of season 2 though, if they do the anime as good as or better than the manga then it shouldn't be boring, but again, depends on taste.
Out of curiosity, what did you think of MHA? |
When is the soccer world cup btw? That's only time I somewhat follow soccer.
*football, starting in june :D
Boring games.
(facepalm) |
for Night Crawler:
Barca was very lucky against Chelsea :D |

Explains xD |

I like it much more. The characters are just simply better and more complex in general. Specifically Deku and bakugo are the type of characters i enjoy more than typical ones like Meliodas and Ban. |

**Soccer
Haha I watched the last two or three world cups and since the first time I watched I found Messi cool :D Might have been biased because everyone around me liked him lol.

Interesting. I like MHA too, though since you mentioned Bakugo, for some reason I find his character a bit unrealistic, but nothing too severe.
Nice to know though, I guess stuff like this is highly subjective and opinion based. |
Just to clarify, I found Bakugo decent for majority of the anime, just in season 2 after a while his character took an annoying turn, but it was intended to be so by the author. It feels like it is obviously leading up to some climax for his character development, which I hope happens in S3 before he gets intolerable. |
for randomr1:
Its subjective that's why you can get away with calling it one of the best shounens which i feel is far from truth.
Now, shounens themselves usually have pretty low standard in terms of plotline but there have been many good ones already so this cannot replace a good story.
Many of the things we know about the characters are just ambiguous and there for no reason such as why these 7 sin guys haven't aged, why Hendrickson wants the holy war to happen and so much that he is ready to get everyone killed for some supposedly meaningful reason besides extracting demonic powers, also the whole forced fanservice and ass/breast groping. Too many flaws in this anime. Earlier i did mention that the characters were bland. |
Im more "Distant" from LWM lately these weeks, Idk why.
Maybe it has to do with me having difficulties as to enjoying Demon with low FSL and under Loans, or maybe need a "Break" for a while (Played a lot of CG last year Imo).
Or the issues going on .Com lately.
Whatever, Idk. |

Basically everything you mentioned and more gets answered either in S2 or S3. Now keep in mind I didn't say S1 was great (I still thought it wasn't bad), but the manga so far is great. The manga is at chapter 255 and 1 season is about 100 chapters. About the fanservice, well that's just anime for you and a large majority of shounen anime have it, some more than others. But later on the series it does get far less frequent.
Btw all you need to know about Hendi/Dreyfus was explained last ep (6), did you watch it?
A lot of people didn't like how Meliodas was way too op, this was also explained and besides at several points in second season he would be far from op (watch ep 5 for example). Anyway, explaining more would be spoilers. Also I think the pacing is very good. In total there will probably be about 70-80 eps for the entire series (from start to completion) and imo it has more content than hundreds of episodes of one piece or something.
To summarize, I'm not "getting away" by calling it good. 7DS' manga is one of the best selling manga and in 2015, the year the anime aired, it was the biggest selling manga surpassing even One Piece. There are millions of people who would agree that it's good. Now yeah it might not be as great as S;G but you can't expect most anime to be that good. Just watch S2 fully, and as I said it gets more interesting later on, I think you'll like it more than you do now. Besides, I do think among other anime airing this season it's the best one so just give it a go if you aren't too busy. |
for Ipsen:
Yeah me too, though I'm pretty busy these days. I think you'll get interested again after alt dwarf :) |

wow that surprises me considering how much better one piece manga is than the anime. First of all, i haven't read the manga for this show but i can comment on the anime. The SDS anime felt very cheap to me and by that i meant the stuff the characters do in anime, I was not disappointed by the character designs or animation fluidity. Again, i have seen plenty of shows and i would know if i felt like i was watching one of the bests but in that regard this one is very much lacking. |
for virtual_vitrea:
Well I think one of the reasons you say so is because the characters feel somewhat shallow in the 1st season and it's hard to understand them clearly.
About that, not only does the manga do a much better job, the characters get a lot of development and become far more interesting in the upcoming season(s). Especially Meliodas, he used to be this random character in season 1 whose past and motives are unknown. He is also known as the sin of wrath, yet appears to be a jolly kid. We also rarely got to see what he thinks, or his internal dialogues. All this made him a main character who is hard to relate to or understand.
In comparison, we know as much about characters like Luffy or Naruto as they know about themselves, which makes is easier for us to put ourselves in their shoes.
By 2nd season however, and even more so by 3rd season, we get to know a lot more about Meliodas (and also many other characters) and he truly becomes a main character. This makes him far from being just another bland OP main character like Kirito.
Just something on the side, but another reason I like 7DS is that there is no nonsense "nakama power" and characters almost never get a random power up for no reason. 7DS' power ups almost always (and always for important characters) make sense and are acceptable unlike shounen such as Fairy Tail or even One Piece (although the latter is good for other reasons).
But again, as I have mentioned likes are subjective, and especially when it comes to something people do simply to enjoy doing it, like watching/reading forms of fiction.
And hey, if you watch a series intentionally or even subconsciously only trying to find flaws then you can never enjoy it. When watching it try to immerse yourself into the story instead of judging it as simply a piece of writing, in my opinion that makes fiction far more interesting.
I do hope you like the series later on, but it's really all up to your preferences :) |
