There is a popular restaurant close to my apartment and all of my friends rave about the honey walnut shrimp they feature, so i thought i'd give it a try. I thought i was going to be fine, but something about the curled up crustacean dipped in sauce made me wanna throw up. I like to think i am not a picky eater but i guess i just cant see something so insectoid as food. |

Instead of bones that you see in aves and mammals, these guys have an exoskeleton (a chitin shell) which you could say is what protects them. Its not really a tough shell, but i have no idea how boiling makes it edible :p |

not liking the idea of eating shrimp is not unreasable, a lot depends upon what you are culturally used to and familiar.
For many people the idea of eating a cockroach, or scorpion would be crazy, but would eat shrimp or crab. Both are arthropods.
Similarly some would find eating slugs and snails disgusting (other may not) though eating clams, mussels or scallops disgusting, though similarly both are molluscs.
Over thinking what food is usually results in it appearing horrible. That's why people do not visit sausage factories |
