Author | Best way to reduce TG difficulty |
Hi guys! ^^
I want to know how to reduce TG difficulty quickly :)
When I did TG long ago I played with full ap, and even enchants sometimes, but now I can only min AP and need help in reducing its difficulty.
Here is a battle I lost awfully which didn't give me enough fsp to reduce difficulty:

Here is another one I did recently and got just enough to get some difficulty reduction(fsp 0.31):

Now, I must admit the second one was much easier so I was lucky, however, can anyone suggest me a certain setup that can help me to get at least fsp 0.3?
Please note I have a full barb castle (but with very low fsl) and an elf castle. Please share your thoughts^^ |

Wow didn't expect to gt -.42 on that one :D |
Sometimes you can get lucky, against casters it's always a bit easier to get good fsp. But the best way is to use more ap, gradually use less until you're at min ap. To get good reduction of the difficulty it's best to have around 0.7 fsp (not sure if this is possible at your level).
If you really need to keep on using min ap, you might want to try dark barb with a poison build. You can give it some tries and see how it goes. If you defend with max ogres in a corner and have shooters and boars in other corners as decoy, you can let the battle last a lot of turns, in which you can do a lot of damage with poison. You might even win. I did this with necro when I have no skill there yet, but this was before the changes in the thief mechanism. |
Yeah, high ap was my plan but I only have min ap :)
I too thought of trying poison build but it depends a lot on sp, but i can barely get 3 or so in min ap, so about 28 dmg, and with resistances it would be way too low :D |
more fsp form lost battle = more reduce difficulty
that mean you need more ap to faster reduce |
What do you mean you can only get 3 sp? Se a potion of oblivion. Now you may say that you don;t have time to switch and get potions all the time - you are correct. If you personalise your talents and save one with your desired stats distribution you can switch between builds far more easily. |
for Lord MilesTeg:
Ah nvm, I can get up to 5 sp :D
BTW when u have negative gold u cant even buy PoO :/ |

to change points distributions you can try the presets from different factions to get the distribution you want.
for example if you want all points in SP, all you do is switch to wiz, use a chaos build preset, and then switch back to barb.
this method doesn't give perfect distribution but it's a good alternative :)
on a separate note, i'd suggest you lay of thieving (anything that is a gold drain). just keep enrolling, hunting and doing MG quests until you come back above sea level ;) also, try not to cheat again :P |
I did not cheat xDDD
BTW I am doing tg so that i can get 500k from tg5 :) so its not a gold drain :P
Is there any faction that gives 2 or 4 kn and rest att? The closest i have found is 3 knowledge.
You can always ask someone to gift it to you)
I have no one bro xD |
Potion of oblivion cannot be transferred. Also, going to TG5 will require quite a bit of money, at which point the 500k reward won't seem so big, I reckon. |
Your rather close to cl11 » Combat level: 10 (2,683,629) +316,371
If you plan to doing many combats you'll reach cl11 before you reach tg5
Meaning you'll be having financial issues
second option is to do 10 enrolls and 1 combat until you pay out your debt , but whose got that kind of time?
For your actual question
The fastest way to reduce difficulty would be double ambushing.. , higher chance of getting 0.30 fsp and overall gives better fsp |
well i dont understand why you got your penalty for but anyway i would advise you to try and work towards cl11, 300k exp may seem like alot but its doable through hunts and mg ...
100k gold isn't too much lets say you get 3 moonstones and a couple of windflowers and maybe a few ice crystals... that would be 50k!! if u manage to reach cl 11 then you would get more then 100k in gold + resources sell everything to clear your debt, then once u clear your debt you can then work your way to tg5 get the 500k gold and then use it to build your castle ....=) |
Yeah thanks guys :D
i am planning to level up in about two weeks. In fact, treefolk only cost 57k whereas i receive 123k by leveling up, so its all good :)
Also, going to TG5 will require quite a bit of money, at which point the 500k reward won't seem so big, I reckon.
I am trying to do it only with min ap so it will come for cheap :D |
Btw what was the POINT of the changes in the Thief system? Why make it more complicated? With the 0.3 thing.
Before it was 5% less diff per lose and a 7% increase per win against a caravan, period, nothing about 0.3 Fsp.
I honestly dont get it. |
Another question, does anyone know how difficulty decrease works in shared tg?
I clearly get way more fsp in shared, so does diff decrease a lot in those too? |
Since you get more fsp , you'll also get more reduction
10% is max reduction , which you get if you get over 1.0 fsp
Double ambush gives more fsp even on losing ,
since fsp is higher
higher the reduction |
for gitropiks:
Wow didnt know that :O
Thanks a lot for the info!:D |
Check my thef battle. for solo (barb, don't worry low fsp)

For double, It'll be good if you can get a partner who agree to lose.
