Author | General Progress Coefficient |
Have been wondering about it for a while... what is it? |
It's a value which defines how good your character is build depending on your guild and faction levels. But I can't say how it is calculated and therefore how important it is. |
that Coefficient equation now changed since WG the new Guild added |
Previous formula without WG:
General progress coeff = 0.713*CL + 1.111*FL + 1.25*HG + 1.25*LG + 0.667*GG + 1.43*TG + 1.67*MG
It's just a linear combination of cl, fl, and some of the guilds.
RG and WG should be in there at this point, probably as:
+ x*RG + y*WG
depending on how 'important' admin thinks those guilds are. |
How are fsl of other factions calculated in this equation btw? Like would someone with fsl 7 in 2 factions get more points from fsl than someone with fsl 12 in one faction? Or does it depend on total faction points earned? |
It simply sums up your total fl across all factions
So in your example, the two fl7 > one fl12
This coefficient highly exaggerates people that have faction resists |
two fl7 > one fl12
Are you sure about that? That would mean that it is quite pointless... |
Yes, since its easier to have FSL 7 in 2 factions than 12 in one. |
for Ipsen:
Exactly, so why is two fl7 > one fl12? |
Meh... Idk dude. I wouldnt trust these formulas to see your progression in a game. There is no formula that can tell you "You are doing fine" or "You are performing badly". What if someone has 5 FSL in every faction at CL 12 but he has LG 4? He ll propaply end up broke, for sure. There SO MANY different things to take into account...
IMHO its something you have to judge by yourself, just check the player's Roulette balance, take a quick look at his resistances and compare his Guild levels to yours.
If you are worried about your progression, I ll tell you you are doing pretty well, you are WAY ahead of the average CL 12 russian player. I often create 3v3 GBs and I see most of the people without a TGI or with 0 resistances in every faction. The only thing I'd say its super low is your LG.
Just chill. |
Your two fl7 > one fl12 concern is the reason why many choose to ignore this number.
It's not an accurate measure of the progress of a character. |
That's true. For example I've got a slightly better GPC than this guy: https://www.lordswm.com/pl_info.php?id=5363523
And he is clearly far ahead from me. |
for Hiltrud:
That's mostly because of your TG and GG.
It's ironic how GG even plays a part in this... I understand it gives +1 luck, but it has no use in tournaments and stuff, and besides below 800 GG pts there is no use of it. |
The GPC measures your character's progress across a number of guilds. It is about measuring your progress towards the "perfect" character - Having the character at the maximum achievable guild levels.
Gamblers guild features because it too can be levelled toward completion.
The formula itself is not intended to be a reflection of the strength of a character in combat, but rather the overall development/progression of a character. That is why it is the general progress coefficient.
You can take what you want from the number itself. The formula was devised by the players that run Guild of Heroes to allow players an alternative system of measurement of overall progress.
I personally enjoy using the GPC as a means of comparison with other players at my level, since I believe that faction resistance is a critical element in character development that ought to be balanced with a high main faction level. |
And do tell where one can see this 'General Progress Coefficient'. So far I have never seen it. |

In the "sort by:" drop down list, GPC is the last one. |
