AuthorNew Wikia for Lords of War and Money
Hi all,

I'm not entirely sure this qualifies as 'Creative Works', but here goes.

I've created a new Wikia for LordsWM. My goals are:

1. Provide a helpful, comprehensive game reference for all players.
2. With time, expand this resource with strategy tips and advice.
3. Hopefully, attract new players to the game via organic search.
4. Provide cross-language terminology reference (English<->Russian) for translators of this game such as myself.

So far I've focused on creating templates for articles and only just started creating content. Please see the most complete creature page I've created so far on the Wikia:
http://lords-of-war-and-money.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Witches

Any feedback you can provide is most welcome, be it positive or negative!

I'm also looking for people who can help me realize this Wikia's full potential. Please join me in this effort if you are:

- Passionate (and hopefully knowledgeable) about Lords of War and Money
- Good at English writing
- Preferably have some experience with one or more of the following:
-- HTML or wiki format
-- online help writing
-- image editing
-- fan community building

I can be contact by private mail in either English or Russian.

Thanks for your time.
correction: I can be *contacted* by private mail...

Let me know what you think, first and foremost. Thanks!
Contains some spelling mistakes.

After spending mana, they are typically used to kill off very small enemy stacks that get in your way, or as kamikadzes drawing the retaliation of strong enemy stacks.
--
Kamikadzes?

When planning your casts with Dark Witches, check for the presence of allied mana-stealing creatures in the battle (e.g. Spawns and/or enemy mana-draining creatures (e.g. Apparitions).

Not Spawns but Vermins!

No offense but this info is easily available to us commers. It'd be better if we got translated articles.

@MarineBiologist

Thank you so much for pointing out my mistakes! Like I said, it's a work in progress so will improve with time.

It goes without saying that this Wikia will not be very useful for experienced players, but rather for beginners. My goal is to organize information in such a way that it's easy to find and comprehensive -- not all over the place like inside the actual game.

The unfortunate downside of this particular Wikia platform is the overabundance of ads. Nothing I can do about that, sorry.

When I read this, I get the feeling you think the overall community owes you something. The fact is that I'm a player just like yourself. I'm not one of the makers of this game, nor do I represent them in any way. The golden rule is, if you want something done, do it yourself!

I don't run the Daily, but sometimes I help them with translations into English. In fact I already translated that transcript a week ago. When it gets finally published is out of my hands.
for SirReal:
spawns cannot drain mana from troops, only from the hero. Apparitions can, however.

for MarineBiologist:
Nonsense. It is no where written that its preferable to take retaliation with a smaller stack before hitting with your main troops. Or that vermins can drain all mana from chaos casters so they must not be ignored. All of this you learn from experience unless you are too much of a genius and can read what is not written.

There are no tactical tips included in the game itself, or they are too scattered so this idea isn't bad at all. But, I can at least use it to share with real newbies provided it doesn't include any false information. Of course, how much everyone benefits from this depends on the quality of work itself but you seem to have no good reasons for declining this especially when the game isn't very noob-friendly.

You're right, and it's Vermins not Spawns (as our friend above has already pointed out). The point is that Vermins distribute the siphoned mana to allied casters such as Dark Witches. This can come into play when Dark Elf + Demon play on the same side in a team battle.
Also, when playing in Portals of Time, Vermins and casters are sometimes a good combination to recruit together. But that probably falls outside of the scope of this particular creature article.
for SirReal:

Sorry, didn't want to sound like a douche but my comment was a request rather than a snark comment. I apologize if it offended you in any way.

I know and I thank you for your work.

Use Adblock/uBlock.

Mostly everything is covered here already:

I do, but other visitors may not. I meant that I unfortunately cannot turn off the ads on the Wikia altogether, even though I'm the administrator.

I find these resources are useful but not always up-to-date, as they are hosted on private websites or forums. A Wikia, on the other hand, can enjoy contributions from all willing fans.
You can also find some information here, but some of it is outdated.

If you have never been there before, make sure you look at the intro: http://www.warriors-guild.org/

I think Wikia is a very good place to organize information so I like your initiative very much.
It looks good, keep it up!
Thanks for your feedback!

I've had a lot on my plate recently, like translating a book for the United Nations, among other things. Haven't had much time to devote to the Wikia.

If anyone is interested in contributing, let me know and I'll clue you in on how Wikia works. Just PM me!

This is great!
Thank you for your effort and time! :)
Amazing Sir,

Thanks for the effort and help to our beginners =)
