in this battle, how do the invokers and frontier ursary use the rune without even losing one unit in the stack? |
to perform double attack "rune of crusade" 1 creature in stack must perish.
for retribution rune no condition. |
He used the FSL9 rune, no conditions on it. |
the forum says that rune is used in such a way, that all the troops next to the primary target hit, but in this case, the invokers and ursary attack two different stacks which are not adjacent to each other..
anybody can explain? |
I doubt if you read this in about the game section..
btw, the original def. is this:
When the stack with this rune's effect attacks, it will hit all creatures adjacent to the tile its original target stands on. This attack is not retaliated.
It is very clear. |
it will hit all creatures adjacent to the tile its original target stands on.
those Cyclops were not standing adjacent to each other.. so there were no creatures adjacent to the original target (Cyclops)
So there should have been only 1 hit |
the invokers and ursary attack two different stacks which are not adjacent to each other..
true
but those two different stacks don't have to be adjacent to each other, they have to be adjacent to attacker (ex: invokers) |
There are two situations where you'd want to use this rune
1 - When there are a lot of enemy stacks near you and you want to hit them all.
2 - When you want to hit an enemy without taking retal.
The guy chose to do it for the 2nd reason. |
for Meshy:
Actually for your first reason too because both of the Frontier Ursary & the Invokers hit the 2 stacks in one turn. |
all creatures adjacent to the tile its original target stands on.adjacent to the tile of the primary target
this is the thing that I don't understand.. |
all creatures adjacent to the tile its original target stands on.
this is the correct description for Invoker's retribution strike ability
However that description is wrong for retribution rune.
For the rune this is the right description
they have to be adjacent to attacker |
all creatures adjacent to the tile its original target stands on.adjacent to the tile of the primary target
Dude.. why are you getting confused? Consider retribution rune to be like a ladon attack.. you can attack all enemy units adjacent to yourself. The only difference between ladon attack and retribution is that retribution will have multiple separate attacks so luck can trigger in some or all of them (if you have luck) unlike hydra where you hit everything around you in one attack. |
oh now I understand... description is wrong for retribution rune. |
