No it is random. One battle they may be right in front of you and the next one in the corner. I have done all my event hunts in min ap so far without any problem, the difficulty never seemed to increase.

Well that or simply you should know each upgrade is 3 stones and the final upgrade is 5 stones. |

| For me it was pretty hard from the beginning (first battle against sphynxes), lost 2 battles because I didn't take it seriously. In the third one I thought a bit about it and it wasn't too hard anymore, but an increase in difficulty could make it very hard :S. |

Try mage build and kill the leader first. Wiz magic bonus works when leader is killed. |
