At combat level 15 I was getting around 7,6k-8,2k exp per win. Now that I have leveled up to level 16 I only get around 5,6k-5,8k exp per win while the same around 1,7 sp stayed. I have checked my thief battles of a year ago as well. Why the huge deduction in exp while due to the leveling up TG has become harder as well?
The huge deduction is due to you being a very pumped character on level 15. Due to you having a much higher than average fsp - you were getting an exp penalty of around 40%. You are only slightly pumped now at level 16 so you are getting a 0.3% increase in experience from battles.
Watchers guild has a deduction of well over 2k exp as well. The exp penalty is a very bogus system. Then what is the use of leveling up when you are gonna get less exp each time you level up? So on one hand is when you grind for exp to level up fast your sp becomes too low to even make a dent in pvp and on the other hand is when you try to sp farm you get a huge exp penalty bonus making you level up faster so negating your sp farming. Every game has its grinders and farmers, this must be the only game where either of them gets you penalised.

The "Base" Exp you are getting is higher at this CL (Obviously), but the "Extra" Exp you get now is way way lower, because you were very Pumped at CL 15.
You just reached CL 16, so the average FSP of CL 16 is higher, thus you get less "Extra" Exp, because you arent as Pumped if we compare it to the average FSP of the Level.

I dont think the System is actually bad, Tbh.
It tries to help ppl who GBed a lot "Early Game" (And didnt know about Pumping and FSP, etc...) and penalises Farmers, in order to have them both more or less Balanced with each other.
Without this "Balancing" the game would all about Hardcore FSP Farming, and Farmers would be Imba compared to ppl who GB often.

Its a fair system to discourage overambitious farming. What's bogus is the concept of dynamic balancing in TG, or some events where the cycle of winning => losing => winning is necessary to progress.
