i really like this event. My only complain is that the looted items are too low level, and can't be traded. The only use is hunting, but even like that, i'll have to trash a lot of them because of inventory space issues.

Wish they were locked on player's level instead. Or at least tradeable
Did you guys reach over 2000 in population?
For me each time I get to 1900+, the next fight is impossible to win. And when I say impossible I mean I can't even kill half of the enemy's army...

How do you deal with shooters?
You target them first while the melee enemy crushes your troops, or do you let them to the end?
I have a lot of shooters, I divide my wreckers in three stacks of 56 each, put my fortune genies and sphynx on frontline for first attack on enemies which pretty much takes care of the 200+ melee attacks and my shooters plus towers( I have 4 towers with attack rank 13 and endurance 7 each) are able to attack shooters to lower their damage and then i shoot melee troops next turn

DoF does fairly nicely

However, if I had my time again with free choice I would do things slightly differently.

I can imagine a good tactic being to set up towers to box in shooters with a highly shooter based army - say elves, barbs or necro. You would put your towers fairly forward to be in range earlier. First you get the shooting advantage then when they cannot hit you could perhaps summon phantoms into areas they cannot then hit without shooters - - forcing them to advance and counter attacking. Not sure how red knight with mass holy and watchers could do in similar situation

Hindsight is a wonderful thing (not that I could do it anyway as an elf) and I do not think it would work quite so well with wiz or dwarves.
Oh this was just after a loss so should be able to win the next few relatively easily as seems rather contradictory saying it works ok with that score. In my head I had 177 more peasants which I had prior to my last fight.
Thinking about it again - probably easier and more flexible to make a wall of towers linking the front hut to the back one such that you can put shooters behind and troops in front.

why the battlewise wizards troops have increased speed with holy magic talents
It's like as soon as I cross 2000 Population, the next battle is so freaking tough that I just cannot pass.
And I'm keeping the best artifacts possible on my CL still this happens.

Especially with Dwarves and Barbarians.
Damn they're tough to beat.

And even if I get some other faction, they just increase the amount of troops in AI and just impossible to beat.

I somewhat have figured out how to decrease the difficulty after each threshold though I am not hundred percent sure but it has worked for me when I though about it.

From 2179 i went to 1.8k and now back to 2.1k and this time it was easy due to one minor change

And if I don't get an impossible to beat enemy, they somehow get first turn with dragons or birds that are place exactly in front of my peasants. And when they kill 100+ peasant I end up losing anyway....

Exactly, even if you have a chance to win, they destroy your population to pulp.
Been in that situation.
No dragons on me but dwarves use agility rune and destroy the population.
why the hell troops under battlewise wiz control have +2 speed without any talents
Another funny way to make you lose the fight when you are close to 2000 population:
Place 2 stacks of peasants in front then place 2 stack of genies in front of them. Genies takes first turn and kill 2 big stacks of peasants. Sphinx immortals attack with luck and kills my ursary. Then they get morale and move immediately to kill (with luck again) my dreadbanes, lava dragons and 2 towers.
Game over :)))
the trick to getting weaker army after 2k imo is keeping a weak tower
