No worries. I like the merchant aspect of this game. After all this is Lord of war and money.
From my experience no player has the capacity to ruin it for the others. I remember in the old server there was a mercury shortage and one guy filled his coffers with at least 3000 mercury(surplus of the game) and sold it at at least 20 gold profit per piece and then admins restocked the mines :P |
Market is a really fragile and "alive" thing.
It is very easy to go the down road but very hard to go up again.
For example look at moonstones, they where selling at 10K a year ago, it's very easy to get a price low but you will need years to get it high again.
Many times my lots have expired after waiting for 3 days because of blockers, still I repost them to the same price and get that 3 days loss on than go sell them lower so not to lose all this time, just to keep market stable. If I start selling lower because I wasted my time and everyone else does it too then the only way from there is down. |

Yes that is a problem, especially with high lvl mage arts. They are going at 4-5k loss. |

Now I am no flawless player, but it is frustrating to be in a match where you think you are going to win, and end up not, when your partner throws away a lead you gained.
This is particularly when with a player who gets stuck in a mindset. I am a zappy DE, I will defend and zap and that is what I do. It doesn;t matter if his troops have had disruption ray put on him a million times. I am a zappy DE I will defend.

As a case in point. Now I am not saying he was awful and I was perfect. Certainly in hindsight I could have left my gremlins where they were (I thought he was going to switch sides to kill me with griffs as it was inevitable I was going to be quicker to kill and they were confused so less effecive), but this left them vulnerable later and a morale proc on the guardians did it in for me. Equally at the end, if only he had moved his dark witches away, we would have won, instead he waits - ogres get a morale burst and blam, game over. Sigh, another missed CG point. |

I sell arts at lower costs all the time. I suppose you would be really annoyed with me. But i do not care much about that because it is more important for me to sell fast. Elements are free drops to me anyway so their prices have no actual basis to the majority of us. In fact, if a player did not purchase any expensive enchanted arts but rents it usually from a depository, then a drop in element costs is a favorable thing. It should lead to more accessibility of the said weapons after their value is dropped. Perhaps i would see this situation differently if i was a hardcore mg lover who was getting a lot of elements and trying to make good profit out of it :p

Welcome to CG. From what i can see, you are bit of a greenhorn to this part of the game. You will subconsciously learn to accept more mistakes from your teammates in time (after you have made many of them and caused losses as well haha), especially since you will realize that poor judgment can sometimes come from the very best of us :D |

Defend is best for him, but not all the time I think. As any good classic wiz knows. There is a time to sit and defend, and there is a time to run with your gargoyles. Dark elves do not have much practice at running away, it is seeing when you should shift roles. Earlier running with lizards or dragons(in fact when I suggested it to him) would have perhaps meant that they were vulnerable to inquisitors, though that cost would have been baanced by me surviving longer - or having units to run away with that have a higher movement value. Running with dark witches is not going to work for long. |
While on CG I did another battle afterwards - paired with a lower level. I am against a defensive tamer DE. Does he attack them in the gap when I have lowered their defence, of course not, does he do it even when I have suggested he do so, of coure not. Does it consequently cost us the match, of course!
I think I need to start asking some .commers to pair with me in CG so I don;t get stuck with people confused by google translated russian, or are just a wee bit thick! |

About the default assumption that people are male, perhaps you have a point. Though it can work both ways, for example all the ships lost in the Bermuda triangle are male, they got so fed up with people saying "aye, she's a real beauty" that they decided to go off the map and ditch their owners. True story. |

After what I felt were two glorious wins in the mixed tournament (I basically killed almost all the opposition on my own) I have come crashing down with an opponent combo that tore us all a new ..... Absolute killer combo - defensive Tamer DE with two knights as allies (15,15,9 vs 14,14,14). Very soon there was a large stack of lizard chargers with almost 23 ini, +12 attack from chastise and +9 from stoneskin killing everything, meanwhile while he is supercharged my stacks are all delayed by his witches, so I sit and watch as he moves twice to my once, cutting through all my defence.
To top it off I am teamed with a level 15 dwarf who has not rune of retribution. Why o why do you take your second best faction into a mixed tourney when the difference between FL8 dwarf and FL9 is sooooooo significant. I know you have to get to FL9 somehow, by like fighting and stuff, but no need to do it as my team mate. If you were my enemy I may think differently but then when that happens you won;t find me here having a rant! |
It was all going so well, 4 wins from 4 from random teammates in the tourney. I went for number 5, teamed with tamer DE, good match considering I am DoF battlewise, though against preset and was going to be tough to win but interesting if things worked out right.
What happens but the raging idiot is AFK at setup, so what with his tactics talent all his troops are in a lovely square. Game over before a shot is fired. Cavalry and genies converge to wipe out lizards, fireball follows and and minos get torn a new one. From what I was hoping would be a close battle with a shot at a win, was very much a whitewash supreme. |
What is it with some people! In general elves have one tactic, attack attack and then if unsure attack. Normally I would get frustrated by someone charging straight at someone with everything only to get shot to ribbons.
However, I just got paired with a charmer elf, who faced with the awe inspiring difficulty of some minotaurs in front of him, with forest bretheren, unicorns (with bonus luck I had given him) and green dragons all poised to attack, chose that discretion is the better part of valour, and waited so green dragons take retal. Only then to get delayed and hit by barbarian to miss turn.
IT should have been an easy win, if only he has some sense!
