AuthorBW players - help me :)
Hi,
I built my wizard castle yesterday. I want to play PVP with it but i am having a hard time especially with battlewiz.

Please watch this combat and tell me if my stats are bad or what am i doing wrong.

The problem i am facing mainly is that my genies don't get to do much before getting killed. I am thinking i should just ignore my instinct and charge with them the first chance i get. In the battle i posted, my genies were useless. They got blocked by berserkers and then mayhem just ended it for them.

Also what surprised me was that invokers played before gremlins even though they had 14 something initiative and i had 15+ on wreckers.
One mistake I noticed was the full stack of Genies casting Wheel of Fortune on Patriarchs while they were in range of Bears, Invokers and Ogres.

Hitting Bears or Ogre would've been a better play especially since you were against a Barb who could just knock Genies back as turns progress
I had only 4 speed at the time. Was affected by mayhem. I had no moves to play other than wheel of fortune. If i moved in closer, i would get destroyed by archers and bears.

The only move with genies where i could have attacked with my genies was against 3 lava dragons. I could kill 2 of them but i held back because i thought it would be suicidal. Maybe that move was wrong?

You should have cast with genies on your first turn and used onset on sphynx on the first turn. Onset makes a huge difference. Other than that I didn't see any mistakes - getting mayhem on both sphynx and genies is tough luck.
yeah i wanted to use onset but the dwarf had 4 luck and somehow got morale on patriarchs after his first shot. I knew luck was coming next and if i stayed at the same spot with onset i would get lucky shotted by pats along with whatever rangers i had left.
DoF build is less good against dwarves - dragons, patriarchs and bears all immune to it so proportionally harder. Obviously you do not know that before the battle starts so nothing you can do, DoF is the more versatile build for group battles.

My experience of BW is that they are fragile but can seriously hit. This means the psychology of play is important. If you are forced to advance, then you must do so with the fear of a counter attack, this usually comes in the form of genies being used as a counter as they have the higher ini and range.

It is also important to get the ranged advantage as often as possible - with a DoF build this is extra important as you have additional damage at distance. I therefore have kept basic archery talent to maintain my ranged out put, the gremlins first volley against many faction is important as they often move first. Dead shooters do not shoot back.
