AuthorHow to beat dragon campagn battle as HK?
https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?warid=849644243&show_for_all=b50f874fc8

I see room for a few improvements but I'm confused given how far I was from winning this.
You have to make them kill each other.

See the battle carefully you got many chances to do that and with advance planning it can be done better.
So instead of starting off with 1-1 brute stack go for - 8-8-9 monk stacks purely intended for sacrifice.

Carefully planned, it will work.
Actually I can see no opportunities before losing monks and cavalry (first one that came up to me is when I used the single brute for that). Also stacks of 8 monks can be killed in 1 hit by the largest stacks and are highest priority for the AI.
I may be tempted to dive with griffins first time then use wild reflexes on defend to ramp up some damage. That and staying generally compact so as to give chances of getting the dragons to hit each other.

Also as a campaign they are hard requiring some suitable enchants. As a treasure battle you want to win it well so as to loot something. Personally I invested I used 7 pirate arts -very significant ini bonus and can cast while having good general stats.
for Lord MilesTeg:
If you know how to get 12 hero ini with shop arts, then you got me interested!
why shop arts? If it is a campaign battle you do not have that restriction. Pirate captains boots give +12% to hero ini, while the prate pendant gives +5%, which is not quite 12 but decent. Why hero ini of 12 needed though? presumable to cast before enemy move though with the +10% variance that may happen anyway if you are lucky.
Also problem with diving is that I can hardly know where the dragons will be and it prevents holy buff. Also I could hit immediately a retaled dragon rather than hit next turn (which also means losing another turn when griffin lands). Only hitting many stacks in one move is advantageous; if just hitting two then direct attacks are actually more profitable.
I was poiting to my ini to suggest I had not shop arts.
Why not try normal knight with x-bow and shoot them dead with rest all defending / buffing with clereics and defensive talents like concentration / last stand etc?
for ANTI-hacker:
Because it is campaign :D And so you are not supposed to play only 1 faction/class...
I like fighting that task :p

best part of campaign along with the one which gives us allied angels.
oH I dont know about quests :P cause I have not tried them
Wild Refelexes only option )
for Prince Vegeta:
As far as I know the AI has been updated in that it won't attack griffins more than a couple times so that it's not possible anymore to get insane damage bonus from retal and abuse the retal before attack talent.
What?
They improved AI to that extent?
Wow.
for Slust:
dont think ai avoids attacking because of concentration talent. Rather its because of the fact that their stacks deal no damage and griffins have unlimited retal. I think ai is not at that stage yet where it will consider talent effects in gameplay.
for virtual_vitrea:
It does not consider talent but does consider how many times griffins have been attacked. I'm pretty sure I saw a battle where they would wait rather than attack griffins when that was the last unit left, and it already attacked it like 2 or 3 times.
40A 36D 10P 9K is a definite wrong build against dragons.

Try 28A 53D 7P 7K
for SwiftGirl:
Same troops and talents?
Defense Talent Build. You'll win.
Expert Defense + Rest on Holy Magic or Leadership.

Also don't waste first turn of Monks, Brutes & Crusaders. Hit with them.
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
