Hi guys,
I wanted to ask is roulette all about luck or it needs a little knowledge??
Like is it instincts of people that guide them or they use their brain and then bet...
Please help me..

It is luck.
For every player that wins a lot, there are lots of players that lose a lot.
If you could break roulette, people would be flooding the real casinos everywhere.
Remember that a player can hide his roulette results if he has gambled a lot. Not all winners that do. |
But then how do some players predict numbers??
Like some go for straight ups so are they completely blindfolded? |
| Just like dariel said there is no way to know what number will come. It is all luck and in the long run something around 55% of people who bet will lose and 45% will win. You are always at a disadvantage against the casino, slots and roulette etc. it's all a loss in the long run. I've lost 300k in roulette as you can see on my character page. I could maybe have been able to be in thief guild by now if it wasn't for that. Let that be a valuable lesson, 500k to learn a lifelong lesson. Perhaps will save you money irl since you'll not gamble? |

Stay out of the roulette. It is the fastest way to go bankrupt and get banned by violating the rules.
I know people who have won millions and lost more millions over the years (played since 2008 with breaks).
Trust me, it's not worth it!
Play economy wise and you will be fine!

If you think that online pseudo-random roulette is even minutely skill based then you are simply wrong. The entire point of pseudo-randomness is that it will appear random to you unless you know the exact algorithm. And since you very certainly don't know the algorithm, you have zero information.
And since a change in probability will require a change in information in such cases, you are always challenging a 1/19 house advantage. If you think you can ever find a guaranteed way to make profit over a period of time against this then you just don't like math :P

What do you mean by complete randomness?
For the purpose of a roulette game, true randomness (actually spinning a roulette) and pseudo randomness (something mathematically generated to appear random) make no difference on your odds of winning. Pseudo randomness is something that looks random. With the exception of a few very specific needs, mostly for security reasons, such as cryptography, almost all random number generators are pseudo random generators.
One of the advantages of such pseudo random number generators is that they can be deterministic and such, as this very game does, allow a fair game control system. You can read more about it here:

What that means is that all the roulette numbers of a month have already been generated by the pseudo random number generator. The admins give you a password protected archive with the results before that, but only reveal the password afterwards such that you can check that they haven't altered the roulette results for your or anyone else's loss.
Though I am not sure where admins actually publish this archive and the password. I know they have done it in the past.
Even if you somehow knew exactly the algorithm of how such pseudo random numbers are generated, you wouldn't know the starting seed. You could try finding it out, but even if you would look at the already generated numbers to figure out what the seed was in order to predict next results, it would be difficult for there would be an infinite amount of seeds that could generate such a history of results without you knowing which one of them actually is in order to determine the next.
The only way someone could cheat at roulette would be if admins actually revealed the results beforehand to someone, or at least the seed and algorithm, but they might as well inject gold to their account instead.
The reason a few win at roulette is luck. The reason most lose at roulette is because the odds are against you, whether it is a real roulette or one simulated with pseudo randomness. |
