AuthorIs it possible to play 2 mains?
The same way as if there were 2 people playing the account. No transfers between them, 2 difirent accounts like 2 players, but played by one person?

If no (which is prob the case), then why? What would that change?
please read general rules again for your 1st question. If you have doubts about such a MAJOR issue, I bet you forgot ( or dont know) some others as well.

about why part I can only speculate.

character progress is a bit bound by users time invested to game. ( playing / increasing most guilds). if 2 or more person allowed to work on 1 character, eventually that char would have an unfair advantage over others.
heh, seen question wrong, still my 1st advice applies :d

What would that change?

I remember someone was trying that exact same thing, he even clearly stated that he is playing 2 mains.
one day, one of those accounts got blocked. sadly dont remember nicknames. if he is still around and read this, he may give us more details.

summary : rules are meant to be followed in this realm. everyone trying to be too "smart" eventually got caught and punished severely.
for what purpose?

it is time consuming, and eventually you can play all faction anyway. better invest your time on 1 char.

but it is not against the rule if no interaction between them. just say : my "friend/brother" play with same router, so ip may collide.

True but I will never know what its like to play a lvl 8 knight now, will I?

that's what an alt account should be for.

But what #4 says is doable.

actually many people are doing this, and most of them ends to a blocking for financial assistance.
Not a problem at all apparently. I made some complaints about a particular character a while back, who broke all rules of additional characters except transfers between the chars. Both are in MC's, both have tons of transfers(with others), neither have anything written about the other char on profile, etc. They didn't even get a tiny fine, even though clearly one of them should have been blocked.

Also yes, just say it's my great grand aunt playing with my tablet on same ip or something, as long as you don't transfer between the chars, I have never seen anyone getting blocked or fined for it.

That is their fault, for transfers. As long as you don't transfer no way will you get blocked.

As for why this rule was implemented, it was done to avoid financial assists, not just to your other accounts but to others. If you make an account you don't really care much for, you can financially assist someone else (while still being within gift limit), or not even gift, say you just buy something for more than market, or sell for less. And you do this in return for some assistance to your main account, or in some cases maybe even real money. The rule is made to avoid any of that. As long as you don't do any of that, there isn't really any reason not to have two "main" accounts. As long as your great grand aunt plays one of them that is. *wink*
It's not possible to play more than 1 main account.

You can have 1 main account and 2 secondary accounts.

Don't listen to the players suggesting you should create a new account and label it your family member's account - because logically, it's still your account! Which means - It's still illegal.

Ultimately it is the admin's discretion about who they block and if they deem it to be your account (now there is a thread here that they could always point to for evidence) then all of your accounts could risk being blocked.

You're still able to try and enjoy playing with your secondary accounts. As Randomr explained, the secondary characters are meant to have a limiting impact on main char accounts which is why they can't get stuff enchanted or repaired; loan gold or rent items from other players etc.
Yeah well it clearly is illegal... just upsetting that it's not fairly implemented. They should either implement it more strictly or just remove it.
Some players have more than one main.
Some players pay up to $500 per month to have a professional pump their char(s) while they're themselves offline. In .ru, these are called "drivers".

One needs special software for IP control, ofc. If done properly, admins can't trace the rule breaking. And IT IS rule breaking. So if they find out, it means a permanent block.

I personally condemn such behaviour, and any rule breaking.

There's an interesting discussion to be had here.

Back in the old days, you couldn't change factions more than once in 24h. And even within factions, changing from might to magic and vice-versa meant a 2500 gold loss on a PoO. There were no PoS to make you stronger past your FSL.

The game has been evolving, since those "hardcore RPG" days. To what extent?

LWM can modernize and let players have several main chars, I think. Restrictions would go into transsfers, and MC membership, among others.

I wonder what you guys think?

What?!! This game moves this amount of money?!!

God, I remember this. Terrible it was, Lol.

Oh yes. I leave to your imagination how much a CL21 account costs.

Btw, "drivers" are the hired players, not the account holders. Not sure if I was clear before. The thing is: if it is done (and it's common knowledge), maybe the rules should be adapted to allow it to everyone.
Oh yes. I leave to your imagination how much a CL21 account costs.

What do these players do in real life?
I don't know if its worth to spend so much of TIME and hence money for a game?

I don't believe this. Do you have any proof before you make such an implication?

In the first place, buying a level 21 account just indicates the total experience on that account. That alone cannot be enough determining basis for payment. Still, if you pay someone to build a character to that extent, you are going to be in one of the two situations:
1. Your character is well rounded and the "driver" has to put in a lot of effort and time to achieve that for you.
2. Your character just has enough xp to reach level 21. Your driver's goal ends there regardless of your character's strength.

In both cases, there is no benefit. First case, there is hardly any reason to buy an account with little to no progress to be made after and you probably paid big time if the real cost is anything similar to 500 per month.
Second case, an extremely weak character probably deficient in either fsp/guild stats that will just be hopelessly noncompetitive. Tell me what other alternatives can you think of that would drive someone to pay such an amount?

I have solid sources. I'm not a snitch, so never will I speak of actual facts. So ask around with .ru players that may confide in you, you'll realize I'm right. It's not like it's not known among veterans. It's a public fact that Hektor stopped playing almost 2 years before drivers stopped playing his account. Ask him why.

And I'm just telling as it as it is. Ask them what they get out of it. I'm against it, and I totally disagree with such proceedings.
Well some players are spending insane amount of money. some people tries to buy my acc for 4 digits sum (which is probably attempt for a scam) so paying money for "drivers" service wouldn't surprise me cause Russian gamers community can be rich. I know couple people personally who spent more than 10k euros on another russian game about tanks and more than 3k euros for this game just to raise Smith guild.
for Lord Syrian:
So you are not a snitch, maybe you can answer something else that should help us know the truth. I am sure some of us were surprised. Who are these "veterans" you speak of? Honestly i am not sure what it means in that context.
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
