Author | AI in auto battles. |
There has been a lot of times, when AI in auto battles has the ability to end and win the battle for me but instead does something else, and it cost me some battles.
For example, 10 pristine unicorns can attack and kill last enemy stack but instead runs away or defends, because my hero (charmer elf) has chaos magic, so Ai acts like a mage.
Another example is, auto always using stoneskin with my 38 anchorite stack instaed of nuking an enemy stack. This cost me a vanguard mission when anchorites stoneskilled themselves instead of killing the last enemy stack (who happened to be a sharpshooter that had his turn next and he killed the stack I am defending).
Could this get fixed? |
Basically your problem is the AI is stupid when it plays for you?
Yeah... join the queue. |
its AI vs AI. Not gonna be anything like your playstyle. Best is to wait until you are sure your troops have the advantage. |
That would require a re-code of how the AI functions in the game. If you don't want to take the risk of losing the battle, don't hand over control to the computer to play itself. |

Agree.
I never Auto when I can feel AI can make a mistake, or is not going to follow the "Logic/Common sense" that is required in a specific situation.
Reason why you never see people Auto against Chaoses, or UNs in CG.
And also never Auto in Vanguard MGs where you protect a small ally, because you cant know how AI will behave.
IMO its gonna be really difficult to code the AI so that it "Understands" whats the real situation in every moment, and the different choices it can make, etc (The human ways).
(Off Topic): Im always skeptikal about anything regarding Robots, actually. :P |
Well this still doesnt help in quick tourneys |
for Aurelija:
In quick tournaments you need to set up your build in a way that you're going to win. Quick tournaments are different - Because you know that AI are playing the whole match for you. If you know and predict how the AI are going to react, then the strategy component comes into play with you being able to predict and play around the AI ability. |
Yeah but for me as an elf its a lose lose situation. If I set up as a charmer, late game AI will throw by making my troops run. If I set up as an elf, I lose cause my main damage anchorites spend their turn stoneskinning instead of attacking. And if I set up with efk and not anchorites, then efk run out and die first turn because 6 speed is slower than enemies, thus AI puts him in a vulnerable position. |
Lol you think that's bad?
For QT it's common for dwarf troop to use agility rune then only move about 4 to 6 tiles forward. |
Every faction has their issues with it. A full stack of fortune genies will sometimes cast negative luck on a tiny enemy stack, rather than attacking.
If you'd like to make a formal suggestion to the admins to rework the AI, you can do so in the Ideas & Suggestions section of the forum here: https://www.lordswm.com/forum_thread.php?id=103 |
