Is it expressed in hero turn (10 ini) or decayed unit turns? |
It's expressed in hero turns, but it affects you every time your troop moves.
I'd say similar to DoF, duration expressed in hero turns, but affected for the whole time. |
Heres simplier explanation. The turns, means how many turns will the spell last on the creature, just like any holy/darkness spell. However, unit takes damage from it always before its turn, like poison. So yeah, lasts hero turns. |
Isn't there a spell that is expressed in creature turns though? Or is it just seduction? |
Seduction is expressed in what you're saying hero's turn ( 10 ini ).
Morever, there's no such creature's turn exist. Everything works on ATB scale with 10 init as base or 1 turn, i.e time taken by creature with 10 init to get turn again = 1 turn. |

Nothing expressed in creature turns (assuming creature turn =/= hero turn) |
What???
Then Buffs/Debuffs (Chastise, Curse...) aswell in Hero Turns? That is so OP, Imo.
Lets take as reference Forest Brethren (With like 15 natural Ini, around 18-19 if commanded by Hero in Full AP, I think), Delayed by 5 "Turns".
They'd be Delayed in like 8-9 "Creature moves".
I think there was such things as "Monster Turns" (With their Initiative as Reference), and "Hero/Combat Turns", with 10 Ini. |

True. |
I think there was...
Typo: Meant "I Thought* there was"... |
Wait really Ipsen? You did not knew that? :D Even poison is displayed with so called hero turns. |
If its a spell that is casted by hero or creature, then it is equal to time taken to run one cycle with 10 initiative. Its a bad idea to call it "hero turn' because some casters will have 11 or more initiative but that doesn't have to mean their duration spells will last shorter.
Also, special abilities with duration effect used by creatures like onset or rune of intangibility lasts creature turns. Don't confuse this with spells that need to be casted from the book. |

I think DoF only lasts one hero turn - rather than the equivalent of 10ini.
The reason I think this is that I do not recall that DoF has ever lasted longer than my heros next cast, even though he has ini of 11, techinically there should be some overlap. This should be more noticeable for those of CL17 as they can have higher hero ini. |
decay in lwm works different with other spells or its HeroesV version, it counted in target turn, which means it works unchanged times (2 with no dark talent, 5 with expert), unless target burst moral. |
for Lord MilesTeg:
no, with hero initiative more than 10 they can have multi target get fired at a certain moment, i'm sure. |

In this battle can check that on hero's next turn vamp's DoF effect was 0.4 left still. |
In LWM every spell duration is expressed in 10 initiative turns. The only exception is Berserker, which always lasts for 1 creature action and certain abilities like onset (3 creature actions). |
Thanks for the clarification - it may be that because of the respective initiatives of my creatures and the small difference between 10 and 11 ini that it is rare for DoF to still be active by the next move one of my creatures makes. Or I am just not very observant :) |
13# and 17# Yes, its the reason why I was surprised when I read "AAALL Spells are expressed in Hero Turns" in the first posts of this thread.
I mean, it wouldnt make much sense to express Temptress Seduction in Hero Turns, since you just wanna know the amount of "Moves" you can make, and in "Hero Turns" its very very Misleading.
But I also understand that Admins wanna put all in a same Unit/Value.
Just like in most part of the world you use Km/H to talk about "Speed", or ºC to talk about Temperature, or Kg to talk about Weight.
(... Except for USA, which is weird for this stuff, Idk why. They use Miles/H, ºFahrenheit, and Pounds).
Mybe I went Off Topic here :P But I hope you get my meaning. |
