Author | Diamond usage compared to general costs |
Could You advise me which is more reasonable / costs less:
1) buy upgrades for diamond (which could be already purchased by gold + stuff)
2) convert diamonds to gold and buy materials required for updgrade |
If i compare costs purchase for diamonds is cheaper but only a bit, however is it worth or waste of diamonds?
Or one should save diamonds? (diamond upgrade on even CL) |
Keep it mate, at lvl13 DU's are very strong for almost all factions except DE and necroi would say, and even those 2 are usefull! |
If you already have the diamonds on hand / willing to buy more diamonds, then feel free to buy then convert. Otherwise just enroll more. |
well if you save diamond, what you gonna do with that anyway?
the effect of having creature upgrade 1 CL earlier is massive.
it is almost as mandatory requirement to become competitive on CL 13,15,17 |
If you are not going to donate again, you can save for DU's at odd levels.
If you are gonna donate again, as there are several such donation events, you could use it for castle constructions.
I won't say its not worth it. Infact I built most of my factions with diamonds itself. |

You wanna say that Ladons and archliches are not good DU compared to others?
That's not true at all. |
Archliches are not good? biggest joke.
Both archliches and demiliches are crucial additional to both necromancers. Without it necromancers are practically nothing in PvP. This is the only reason I am avoiding more PvPs as necro currently.
Some might have different opinions, But I will put archliches on top4 DU list of lvl 13, anyday. |
Thx for comments.
I have some diamonds already saved and probably i will donate more in future.
So actual question is which is the better way of use diamonds?
- buy upgrade OR convert it and use as gold for whatever? - |
If you can donate more diamonds, and have no problem in spending more, then I don't see any problem in converting it into gold. Because in the end it will help you only. |
@nowar, what factions are worse in ure opinion then? |
This is probably going off topic, but regarding the previous post, I'd say upgraded Tier 5 is a must for ALL classes, except for TDE probably.
Its the only tier which is "Important" for all, maybe.
I mean, some armies don't use tier 2 (necros?), others don't pick tier 3 (DD) ... But all have strong tier 5 in common.
Even HK up Monks (Forgot the name) give chastise, giving the hero one less responsibility to do, which is casting that spell.
Ark lich casts a 100% curse on enemy unicorns and they become useless.
Knight becomes way stronger with Cleric giving steroids to everybody else, etc.
And of course, Hell horses, Rocs, Genies, Unicorns ... are Core of their armies.
Regarding main question:
Yes, just save the diamonds for next lvl DU. |
Save the diamonds, especially if you plan on developing multiple factions. If not, trading a few diamonds for gold isn't a bad idea (now that the exchange rate has doubled). And if you're looking at Castle upgrades and you're not going to do it a level early with diamonds, then you just have to do the math. For example, if you were a Knight, the level 14 upgrade costs 98,000 gold OR 20 diamonds. Exchanging those Diamonds for gold would yield you a net of 2,000 gold. But it may vary depending on faction and depending on upgrade.
Diamonds are also useful for the best mounts. 1 Diamond for 1 week of anti-thief, complex route mount is very useful for boosting Mercenary Guild and also for resource trading.
In general, diamonds are more useful than gold, but maybe there will be some steal in the marketplace and you need some fast cash so you exchange a couple. Or maybe you will get drunk and throw all your gold into roulette, so you will exchange a few. Anything could happen. It's just a game, eh? :-) |
question about the deal thats on saying 25 diamonds and you get the sword of cold - does that include the 10% extra? or is it additional? |

If you buy 25 diamonds, you will get an additional 10%.

Work it from that logic |
And I'm pretty sure you actually have to donate 25 diamonds worth to get the sword.
Like, you can't donate 23 diamonds, which equals 23 + 2.3 = 25 diamonds + sword
Instead, it's donate 25 diamonds, 25 + 2.5 = 27? (or does it round to 28, idk) + sword |
However, the same is not true of the bonus boxes. If you donate 9 diamonds, you get 9 + .9 = 9.9 which I think rounds to 10 diamonds, so you get 1 bonus box. If it doesn't round (because I know you can have diamond fractions), then it's going to be like donate 19 diamonds, get 1.9 bonus diamonds, this equals 20.9 diamonds, which yields 2 bonus boxes instead of just 1. |
no you are wrong. 23 will give him the art. |
23 will give 1st art. 45.5 2nd art.
I tested it myself. |
Oh, really? Good to know.
And does it round up, Ingenious? Did the 45.5 yield you 50 diamonds even, or 50.05 ... or what? |
