AuthorHWM Radio Player interview with Corey
Corey where are you from? :) Your english is like born british :D

He's from New Zealand. :P
It didn't sound British at all.. :p
okay I found it so, but I dont have so high feel oo it maybe :)

Good interview but I found very pain to listen loong loong russian speaking, then translation to english and short english answer :D It makes me feel like when I was working in Korean company and there was young Korea girl who translated everything between me and the korean manager, its was very boring and aaaaarghh :d to me

btw i am from Slovakia, so russian is considering to me as closer language, but i understand from russian maybe 20 percent, sometimes i catch one word what is same in our language. My parents were learning russian language in the school, so they understand very good, but my generation is learning only German and english, I am sad I dont know russian language.

Last of my mind...We have in Slovakia Anastasia Kuzmin, maybe who look at biathlon, know her. She is now as Noldor in this game :D :D

Yeah that's still good. German is very hard for me, but i like how Russian and french sounds. French is especially beautiful. Its my wish to learn as many languages as possible. I don't really seek to be fluent but it would be nice if i could understand everything and speak a little bit.
Just a couple of comments from me. I went to have a nap since I got up at 6am (on my Sunday) to do the interview! ;)

Yes, I am from New Zealand.

The interview was not really the kind of interview where you have a lot of discussion about things. Due to the need to translate, it was very much an 'ask a question, get a response' sort of interview.

Anytime you have an interview, you've got to wonder what the interviewer wants to know. In this case, Miriy is a member of a MC that loves to get involved (or start) wars: He is naturally going to be interested in the views of the .com server on the PvP wars.

The other thing, that you've already mentioned, is that question about translation. It sounds kind of clear in the interview that the mindset is that we should be responsible for translating messages to keep the communication with the Russians. As I pointed out, it's a bit cheeky for Miriy to suggest that using co-ordinates took time and was not suitable, when we're expected to use a translator - Which takes even more time! :D

Miriy raises a very valid point about what can be done to improve communication between English and Russian speaking players in the interface itself. It's very timely that we have this discussion while the HTML interface changes are made - So that we can try and get some communication built into it.

Anyway, the interview was an interesting experience. Hopefully it adds to the discussion fueled by Ipsen in the .RU forums and leads to some constructive change. Whether that change comes sooner or later, we'll just have to see ;)
Which player is Miriy?
I believe it's this guy

for virtual_vitrea:
The one that posted this thread. He is the head of the Radio.
I see. Although the TS is Miriam, no?
SO like what happens in an interview?

How about some inspiration from a well known MOBA game: pings.

We could have a ping option that you can use even when it is not your turn, to ping on cells (empty or occupied), visible only to your team.

The whole team could see them as bubbles linked to cells for the duration of the current's player turn.

There could be a variety of context-based pings to improve communication (move to a cell, attack some unit, protect another unit, cast a spell for hero/casters, wait, defend). The corresponding messages shown in the bubbles could be in Russian or English.

This should not be difficult to integrate in the game.
DarkSooth that's an excellent idea! Would solve most of the problems for everyone.
nice idea but we definitely should have a in-game option to turn off team assist.
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
