for LordMircea:
Your skeleton reserve is part of your necromancer faction ability.

The numbers in your reserve increase, according to your faction level. For example, at Necro faction level 4, you could recruit 40 skeletons from your reserve. Now that you are faction level 5 you can recruit 65 skeletons from your reserve.

It used to be that there were limited numbers of skeletons in your reserve. This is no longer the case. You'll never run out of skeletons from your reserve, you will always be able to recruit the maximum for your faction level.

You can read more about the faction abilities here:

Strangely, I am lvl 7, but I still can recruit 65 from reserve. Table says I should get 130 though ?
The table refers to your faction skill level for necromancer, not combat level. Your necro skill level is 5, so you can recruit 65 from reserve.

You will be able to recruit the entire reserve from the table, no matter your recruitment combo, though "base" skeles recruitment depends on how you recruit other troops.
It used to be that after each successfull battle the necromancer player would get skeletons according to the slain in battle for his garrisson from where you were able to recruit the reserves from. You could even sell these at the market. If you didn't have enough in your reserves you would run into trouble when you kept losing lots in a row and suddenly your garrisson became empty. Those that changed to necromancer later on had a hard time filling their garrisson as well. This got removed entirely and now the reserves appear out of thin air.
Oh I get it, faction level not combat level, I see I see.
