Living as a wizard.

I have recently been trying to level my Wizard FSL and have run into a noticeable problem, the class feels completely underwhelming. I obviously have no idea how to set it up correctly and would love some advice on how to proceed with my talents, skill points and recruiting.

I remember that wizard was the most expensive faction by far back when I first started playing - you had to buy mini-arts using resources. This is no longer the case, which makes everything much easier, however; I feel like this is negated by the massive costs associated with artifacts my hero would have to wear to have any sort of damage output.

Is MIN/MID AP wizard doable in PVE? I am not looking to PVP any time soon and intend to only Hunt/WG/MG until a higher level of wealth and skill. I do intend to pop a skill potion soon to counter the general weakness of my troops at such a low FSL but I do not think that will make too much of a difference.

If you pop a potion of skill, you'll be fine.

Wizard racial ability means the higher the fsl the higher the magic damage you do with hero in hunts.

Keep in mind some hunts may still not be doable as wizard may not have the damage output yet (compared to your elf or necro for example). Easy hunts and some MG should be okay.
Generally all the WHITE difficulty in HG is doable with min AP.
Atleast that's the case for first 10 CL.
Also I have been doing MG a lot and same with Min AP

But for watcher's definitely you'll need more AP, as the minimum is different for that and also if you want to try and aim for 3 stars victory
Thank you guys so much, I used the potion and now my hero does a whole lot more damage. However, when actually hovering over any mob - it only displays the base damage of the spell. 180+ for Ice Clod when the real damage is around 820 now.

Are there any particular strategies I should be using? And is my troop set up alright or should I change up the numbers?
That tooltip should show the correct damage in a hunt but mg its been broken for since it was introduced. What have you put for your mini arts?
Regarding MG/HG, try checking top records in HG/MG, compare their arts,setup and damage to that of yours and figure out right setup.

I am only using the very basic +1Attack/Defense/Initiative as my FSL is too low for anything else.

The damage display works correctly in hunts indeed, thank you! :)

You might want to give Alt-Wizard a shot.

Gremlin Wreckers (infinite bomb placement, successful strike increases magic vulnerability), Big Stack, Decent damage

Grotesques, stack not as big but causes magic vulnerability to adjacent units.

Lodestone Golems, good size stack, high elemental resistance, regen after taking elemental damage

Forune Genies, can cast luck bonus on allied troops, high speed, high damage, good initiative

Bonus to Attack based on Spell Power + Knowledge

Very reasonable Talent Balance

He doesn't have genies upgrade.



I think best currently will just be classic wiz for HG and some easy MG.

Only matters if you're doing HG / MG as chaos BW
With wizards you'll have great ease at hunts or MGs.

Most of my MGs till now I have done as wizard in min ap, which would have been very hard with any other faction. :)

But again, they're not so flashy in PvPs.
With low fsp you are better off as might even in PvE. You really don't need a potion for easy battles. Go with BW for the offensive talents, max out gremlins and genies. Farm easy battles and do hard ones with another faction. Once you get some faction levels in you can switch to magic. Especially T7 hunts and mostly large creature battles are relatively easy.
Battle wiz is not a good advice before fortune genies. Basic genies dont have the same overpowering damage output.

gremlins have mines + quertoes have that aura that makes you do even more damage.

depends what you face really.
My alt is a wizard level 9. I think classic wiz defend or run strategy is more reliable in those stages when not many troops have high speed and morale talents. But for level 10, DoF might be good too so i dont know :D
