Author[HWM Daily] CG Rankings + PvP seasons with prize money!
It's no secret that PvP is pretty unpopular in our game. There are of course, many reasons for this, but today I am going to present my vision for solving one of them by- systematization and assessment of the success of heroes in commander's guild over the entire period of time, as well as at individual intervals.

In other words, I wanna show my version of CG and PvP seasons

The calculations are based on the elo system. The elo rating system is a well known method used for assessing the relative strength of players (by mathematical calculations) in games designed for 2 teams. Initially, all players will have a rating equal to 1000. If you win, your rating goes up, and if you lose, it goes down.

If the higher elo defeats the lower elo, the former will receive a slight increase in rating, while the latter will receive a slight decrease.
If the lower elo defeats the higher elo, the former will receive a significant increase in rating, while the latter will receive a significant decrease.

Based on this system, the ratings of all players who have fought CG since January 1, 2018 were calculated, and a general ranking was generated (link is above).
We are gonna go with the concept of seasons i.e the rating of all players will be roll backed to initial value at the 1st of each month, with the final result of the previous month being fixed. Players who take the top 3 places in each category (2v2's and 1v1's) will be considered as winners, and will receive a cup of corresponding value.
The prizes of the winners are displayed in the overall ranking, when you hover over the medal, you can see in which season the player received it.

By clicking on a character in the list, you can see his performance history, and rewards based on the seasons (if any), for example:

Also, I wanna announce that the season will begin from the next month i.e November 2020. HWM daily will award gold to top 10 heroes from each category. The prize fund of each season is 1,000,000
I do realize that the system isn't perfect, it can be easily criticized, and I don't hope that everyone's gonna like it. But some problems (like balance of factions) need to be solved in the game itself.
I hope that some of the PvP fans will be interested in my work, and if it motivates people to play CG more often, I'd be very happy.
I also do hope that the administration likes my concept and implements something similiar in the game itself.

For those wondering about what will happen in battles against bots-
Battles against bots will do give elo, though very less.

That is a really nice concept to bring into the game. If the admins could implement an in-game seasonal (Monthly) reward system similar to conventional PvP games, it'd be a HUGE plus to PvP participation.

This rating should be about skill, not win rate.
So two (fairy obvious) suggestions:

1] Adjust for whether person is using PoS or in their primary faction. The current list gives much higher Elo to those who use primary faction, rather than those who are much better, but use secondary factions to get FSP there.

2] Adjust for Guilds points. This isn't chess where both parties start with the same stats. Some have very dominant advantage wrt guild points. This can be easily accounted for by giving more ELO raise when low-stat guys beat high-stat ones than vice-versa.

Theoretically the people with high stats will be having a high elo too, and as mentioned when a low elo beats high elo there will be a significant change.

This rating should be about skill, not win rate.

I am sure you've played many elo ranking games, at end it does comes up to point where the only that matters is your winrate and teammate.
Since when one reaches high elo, the chances to lose points is way too much than to gain. And the gain is pretty slow, since you are almost on the top.

What could be taken as a suggestion can be that there should be a degradation in elo if someone hasn't played for a large time period within that month.

And as mentioned the idea is still under construction, and from next month onwards the trials will begin.

I know it's too easy to find flaws in it, even I can point out many, but yeah slowly with time we will develop a perfect system taking everyone's ideas and suggestions into consideration. Hence everyone is free to give their suggestions on it.
Does the wins take into account matches when u can queue with a friend?

What do u mean by season? Does the Elo reset every season or how so? If it is accumulative then I guess this does not concern me at all considering my WR is 48% and there’s no way I’m getting up there.

Also it is fair to say that all the winners will be from players who have high FSP, high guilds.

If they want to make an Elo system and a fair CG experience then set all FSL and Guilds to average level for all players.

The argument, if a higher ranked player loses to a lower ranked player; he loses a lot more points does not make sense. Cuz the probability of losing is very very low.

There are times when I face a player who has +5 more stats than me, as well as huge anti faction. There’s really no skill involved. Just Click auto ASAP and move to next one.

It wont make any diffirence, as noone will want to play against odds of facing statters. Me myself included. 0 fun, not bothered to mindless meatgrind either.

CG can no longer be queued with friends.

Grinding with a good winrate, that's just every elo game though if you wanna reach the top, and no wonder the competition here isn't comparable to others.

My opinion overall:
I like the idea although I doubt the average player will benefit from this. In my opinion, this competition thing will only benefit the top 1% of players to do even more PvP. The average player like me will not benefit from it other than looking at the stats and seeing if u improved. Worse players will be even more discouraged after looking at their low win rates. Maybe this will even influence them to quit PvP altogether and do more PvE. Just my two cents.
