Well, I want to ask if anyone else is getting porn stuff. This is my non porn computer and I don't understand how there's search suggestion for porn there... |
I see chrome, tampermoneky and some hwm stuff.

This is a new computer. I used google sync to get my passwords and bookmarks from Mac but signed out after that.
The kind of searches its showing in suggestions is not typical for me. But I suspect someone in my family who does these type of searches on their phone (not 100% sure, only 70%). I keep thinking if icloud is doing this? But this one is a Asus laptop and i never used icloud on this one. This is all too strange. |

Okay I had the suggestions when I was only signed out of my google chrome account. But after I just deleted my chrome account from browser, these suggestions are gone.
This is not what i expected. I have these questions:
1. How can my information remain in browser after i am signed out of chrome? There's no point of signing out if I cant hand my laptop to anyone without them seeing my stuff. This is troubling.
2. I have the the Browsing history turned off in settings everywhere.. Only have bookmarks and passwords linked to my account so this kind of stuff shouldn't be appearing.
Last i don't remember doing half of these searches ever. I recognize only the other half. The wording in suggestions throws me off. Its almost as if multiple accounts are being synced on my profile.. which is possible because I had a family member who uses my google account to watch youtube :S
This is all too much haha. Whoever is very familiar with chrome settings, Let me know what you think I should do to keep everything private. |
| Someone has been using one of your devices with your email logged in to search for porn, i would suggest looking at your family’s devices (mostly old devices than you used and handed down to someone) to find out which one is still using that email. Then find the person using that device and kink shame them to high hell, or ridicule them for having vanilla preferences whichever applies. |

Its only a young cousin who uses my google account on his ipad to watch on youtube.. But he is so innocent and harmless thats why i let him use it. Go figure -_-
I'm gonna log out of that device asap to prevent further embarrassment :S |
Chrome is pretty cryptic about this whole affair.
There are google "accounts" and chrome "profiles".
Data is saved on your account (google-level), and when you create a new profile with that account, the data will be downloaded INTO the profile (device-level).
The sync setting just determines whether any local changes to the profile data on that device should be updated on the associated google account as well.
But with sync off, you will still have everything on the profile.
The "signing out" detaches the account from the profile so anything you do on the profile from that point on (e.g. clear browsing history, add more saved passwords, etc.) will not propagate to the data originally on your account (so you won't see what your cousin's doing anymore).
But again, the local version of your data will still be there in the profile on your cousin's ipad.
So to remove all traces, you can either sign out AND delete all remaining data on the profile (there should be a checkbox to let chrome delete these data for you when you sign out, but I am not sure if the UI will be the same on tablet/ipad version),
or just delete the profile itself from your cousin's device, which is the safer route. |
