When sending the Leaders’ Guild on a combat mission to the borderlands, Warlord Grammith never imagined that their adventure would lead directly to the gates of the underworld itself. And the fact that they survived was a miraculous relief and a show of real martial prowess. Of course, the Empire would not have allowed the infernal filth to spread over its lands, but thanks to only a small detachment of guards, and the healer they saved, the problem was quickly localised and averted with little bloodshed. Of course, those areas deeply infected with the infernal pall had to be burned with magic, and all living things that succumbed to defilement had to be cut down by the blades of the guards. But the Empire will not forget this loss - and will make every effort to make up for it as soon as possible. And in the meantime, while the troops of Grammith and Abu-Bakir cleared the last pockets of enemy activity, the court magician did not waste time. Having carefully examined the area, he soon returned to the warlord with a very curious find.
"Where did this weapon come from"? the sorcerer asked, showing the blade found on a dead guard, levitating under the influence of his spell.
"Confiscated goods taken from smugglers.." Grammith answered without a moment's hesitation, and immediately added ”You can't even imagine how much effort I had to put in to get it from Feurlis”
"Do you see the brand?" Abu-Bakir drew the knight's attention to the engraving on the pommel, which depicted a strange symbol, partly resembling an eye, "this is a forbidden demonic rune"
"Did all this happen because of her?" Grammith pricked up his ears.
"It is possible" the court magician answered shortly, obviously not wanting to reveal any details.
"I'll talk to Feurlis" the governor said, already looking forward to this exciting conversation.
"And I will make sure that this weapon never again falls into the hands of a living soul" Abu-Bakir summed up, directing a flock of his gargoyles to search every inch of the lands before him.
