With every passing day, more and more warships were putting into port of Harbor City than were putting to sea. The major pirate forces had been crushed. Some of the smarter corsairs avoided defeat by leaving the coastal waters of East Island in time, but the rest were about to get annihilated by the cannons of the impregnable island prison.
"Looks like the pirate storm has blown over," said Abu-Bakir, glancing at the sea horizon through the window. "In a day or two Her Majesty’s prohibition will expire. Your ship will be ready, I hope? My victory was fair and square." He turned around and saw the dwarven commander sitting at the table. With his head resting upon the cold finial of his warhammer, Tolgar looked dejected.
"Oh, stop it," grumbled the dwarf. "I let you win. I couldn’t have my best friend sail off on such a long and dangerous voyage without a good ship."
"Your emotions during the game told a different story," replied the court mage.
"That’s because I’m good at bluffing!" exclaimed Tolgar proudly. "Better than your smirking from start to finish, anyway. Behold the legendary dwarven art of non-verbal trickery!"
"As long as you don’t trick yourself," chuckled Abu-Bakir.
"Don’t you worry. We dwarves know all about that!" shouted the dwarf again. The next moment he grimaced; his headache must have come back. "All right, all right, go get your expedition ready. My ship is always good to go!"
Lords and Ladies! Thanks to your bravery and courage, the defenders of East Island brought the pirates to heel, and the walls of the island prison once again stand tall and steadfast. As a token of the Empire’s appreciation, the trophies apprehended from the pirates will be divided among all those who delivered at least 500 tonnes of cargo to East Island:
All those who attained at least one victory can receive their reward in gold. The amount depends on your number of wins and your combat level. Make sure to visit the "Pirate Siege" page and grab your reward before it’s gone.
Those who not only fought well but also kept a close eye on resource prices and profits will be specially commemorated. All Lords and Ladies whose profits exceeded 50,000 gold have received an additional achievement:
Every player who delivered 1,000 tonnes of cargo has also received from 1 to 15 parts of Magma Ring, depending on their hauled tonnage.
Special mention goes to the 5,000 Lords and Ladies who delivered the most cargo. The admiration and loyalty of new followers is their reward.
