admin please delete its is rilin forgetting who she is again I am sorry grrrargh is my alt I forgot who I was
@20

from the correct account :)

I think its possible that people get used to things the way that they are and maybe sharing trading tips scares people who rely on lack of information on this and other game mechanics for new players to make money.
for Rilin:
That may be true when the server was still young, but I don't think that's the case anymore. All the "secrets" have pretty much been given out and disseminated through various channels. Any other "secret" game mechanics left won't be much use for new players anyway since the ones left are pretty complicated.
for pantheon

certainly the intricacies of trading have escaped me :)
Trading tips can be found here (along with other ways to make money):

Speaking of market strategies, i would like to know others' opinion

Do most buyers just look at the first offer in the list?

In real life, i have a personal dislike for things priced ,99. To my eyes it looks like a persiflage: you wanna make me think it costs 3 while it's priced 3,99 (that is 4 in practice).

Here too, i tend to avoid that kind of offer even if it means 2 or 3 gold more.

Am i the only weird one?

Seemingly yes. I don't, but seemingly people do.

Am i the only weird one?
Nope. Maybe that's why I usually undercut by at least 10% and not only 1 gold...
#27, #28
I agree. That's why as I buyer I dislike those numbers and I tend to avoid them if I can.

But as a seller, I believe that the marketing psychology works. I won't get into the long details, but as a seller I do what I hate as a buyer. Good thing I'm not looking to buy what I sell. :)
You could do what one particular trader does and sell 10/40 arts at full price. He constantly gets away with it...;)

No shame!
for Warwick-the-wiz:
You think that's shameful? Look at those who sell art shop items for higher prices (esp items that don't require resources).
To Pantheon.
I completely disagree with you.

Selling art shop items at a higher price is called trading..
Selling art shop items at a higher price that are 10/40 or 2/12 durability is just dishonest.

Selling art shop items at a higher price is
also called dishonesty :)

but hey, that's the reality of business. i mean you can be a noble and honest personl when having an active trading business at the same time. let's be realistic about that.

on the other hand neither of those two examples is regulated by any game rule so basically merchants are free to use those tricks. for now :)
To 33/34.

I dont think you understand the definition of dishonesty if you think these are both the same.

In any case I see Pantheon is a happy trader of wood and ore at a profit so I fail to see what his "point" is.

This is a thread for traders. ;)

Prolly that's you who do not understand what does that word mean, anyway I'll give u a tip (courtesy of wiki):

Dishonesty is a word which, in common usage, may be defined as the act or to act without honesty. It is used to describe a lack of probity, cheating[1], lying or being deliberately deceptive or a lack in integrity, knavishness, perfidiosity, corruption or treacherousness. It is used about charlatanism and quacks.

Dishonesty is the fundamental component of a majority of offences relating to the acquisition, conversion and disposal of property

Following ur logics selling someth at a higher price than this item costs (the 12/40 dura art for a full price) is dishonest. So why in the world selling someth at a higher price than it costs would be honest in your opinion? That makes absolutely no sense mate.

If you claim selling those 12/40 or whatever dura arts for a full price is dishonest you must admit selling someth at a higher price that it really costs IN GENERAL would be dishonest as well cuz those two examples are absolutely one and the same thing: selling someth for a bigger price than the item costs. Period. Nothing in between :)

Yeah, this thread is for the traders but we're talking trades ethics which is sorta related to trading itself since being part of trading in general, aren't we? :)

I do not give your argument any credence whatsoever. It is lame and I think you know it mate.
Why do I even bother posting on here. Sheesh...

Just delete this one to and ban me while you are at it...

No I do not admit this. Selling something that is used/broken at the same price as a new one is dishonest.
And I said 10/40 NOT 12/40. He does the same trick at 2/12 or 5/25.

It is a deliberate tactic as the buyer THINKS the item has full durability. But he/she is being fooled
