AuthorWeapon Smith / Jeweller
It seems there is little difference between the two.

Weapon smith:
- Ignore target defense
- Extra damage with Earth/Water/Air/Fire magic

Jeweler:
- Nature magic spell efficiency bonus
- Earth/Water/Air/Fire magic spell damage bonus

I would like to know if "Extra damage with XYZ" and "XYZ spell damage bonus" are the same effect worded differently, or different things.
they are different things...

weapon smith adds to the damage done by troops.
eg with 3% earth damage 100 damage done by vamps becomes 103

jewel crafting makes your spells stronger in the respective elemental type.
eg 3% air magic on a wiz hat will make a 100 magic arrow to 103.
weapon smith adds to the damage done by troops.
eg with 3% earth damage 100 damage done by vamps becomes 103

WHAT?? - To stay polite :)

Why would vampires deal "Earth" damage?? Never heard that one. Why not Air or Fire?

And would Elven Druids dealing 20 lightning damage deal more with a air enchanted weapon? With an air enchanted jewelry?
well the elemental type does not matter, the result is the same with fire, air or water type.. the 100 damage becomes 103.

the extra damage ie 3 is of the elemental type of enchantment

elemental type becomes important when the creature has resistence like enchanted garg..

i'm not sure whether the jewel enchant enhance the druid or any other caster attacks.

but as for weapon enchants my previous answer stands
i'm not sure whether the jewel enchant enhance the druid or any other caster attacks.

They do.
no, the 3% extra damage is treated as earth damage. as another example:

if the heroes' weapon is enchanted with extra water damage, this extra damage will have no effect on enchanted gargoyles, who are immune to water. so the cited vampires with a 3% extra water damage weapon behind them would deal 100 damage to enchanted gargoyles, but 103 damage to genies, for example.
So if you have a weapon Fire 3% Water 3% it means the vampires from our example now deals 106 damage, 100 regular + 3 fire damage + 3 water damage??
for Kotrin: (7))
Right, exept the dmg is commutative, not addictive.
So a weapon with 2 x 5% would deal 1-(1-0.05)(1-0.05)=9.75%, and not 10%.
And finally, enchanted weapons add absolutely nothing to spell casting, whether Heroes or spellcasting troops, right? (While Jeweler does)

So with your bright +5% Air Enchant sword, your Magic Arrows still deal the same amount of damage than before, right?

(sorry if I'm a bit thick)
Right again :)
and if you enchant armor, does it count against the plus damage caused by weapon enchants? And what about magic resist? (barbarian, from talent, etc)

Modificators on magic resist do not take away from efficiency of weapon enchantings - the result is achieved by multiplying.

Example: attacker has a mod +15% fire dmg, defender has +10% of fire resist. The result is +15%*(0.9)=+13.5% additional fire dmg.

Barrbs' MR is considered when counting additional dmg with magic. So is other MR - example: stack deals 100 dmg, with 4% fire dmg they deal 104 dmg, but to golems (50%MR) they deal 102 dmg.

Translated in a hurry from russian, hope it helps :)

So practically resistance on amour is useless against elemtal dmg from weapons cause even if I would get 20% resist earth and fight against someone with +10% earth elemantal dmg ist still would get the major part of his dmg even though I have double his value.

e.g.

100*1.1= 110 so 10 earth elemental dmg with 20% resist i still suffer 10*0,8=8 dmg

It seems like resist has a huge disadvantage, cause offense is calculated by the ammount of dmg the creatures inflict, while resist only applies to the small ammount of additional dmg.
Never forget that increase elemental dmg is nearly always usefull regardless of the kind of elemental dmg, while resist is only useful if the enemie actually uses the specific kind of elemental dmg that you have as resistance.
