Thanks, they are very useful indeed. :) |
^^ Really nice scripts, it can works on Opera too :)
>>> For opera users:
# Step 1:
Configuring folder to store GreaseMonkey Script (Need to do this once only)
- Create a directory to store greasemonkey scripts. (e.g. C:\GM_opera)
- Go to Tools >> Preferences, it will open a window.
- Navigate to Advanced Tab, then click on Content option in left menu.
- Click on JavaScript Options.
- Click on Choose button to create a folder or select a folder to store ALL GreaseMonkey scripts!
# Step 2:
Adding GreaseMonkey scripts… (for every script…)
- Click on any GreaseMonkey script link.
(URLs ending with .user.js extension)
- You will see a plaintext file getting opened in browser without any install pop-up as you usually see in firefox!
- Go to File >> Save as opera menu option. When prompted location to save script, navigate to the folder you selected in Step-1.
- Thats it!(Just by saving GreaseMonkey scripts to preconfigured folder you can use them in opera)
# Step 3:
Restart browser
>>> To uninstall scripts:
Just delete or move script file to some other location.
# Compatibility Issues:
- Most GreaseMonkey scripts will work without any modification as they do not make use of GreaseMonkey APIs. But for those who make use of API you can install Emulate GreaseMonkey functions opera userscript.
http://userjs.org/scripts/download/browser/enhancements/aa-gm-functions.js
(Copy-paste that to url address and save it like step 2)
- When this "The file is being written to, choose another filename" pop up on step 2, just ignore it and don't forget to restart/renew opera version.
Good luck and have fun ;) |
Hepl please
When I drag them into the firefoxwindow, they just open and the code is there to read. But it does not seem to have any effect. How do I run them correct? |
Happened to me when I renamed them as *.user.js
Try naming them simply *.user - then do the dragging as usual - worked for me. |
for Albertsen:

Can you tell a file name of the script? There must be ".user.js" in the end. If there is just ".js" then add ".user" before it and then try to drag again. |
thnx artic and sven very usefull :) |
Not that I'm ungrateful for Arctic gathering these scripts, and Sven putting info on them here (and mentioning my name, too ;) but I'd like to thank xo4yxa, LazyGreg, Silentio and Maxter - just to add some diversity :P |

Arctic made already 2 posts in this topic, so i assume he already read it ^_^ |
Ok, finally I figured out what I had missed for the installation part.
Each time I dragged the *.user.js file to my firefox, the source text got opened. I tried those tricks from Shebali and Maxter, no help.
Then I read the post again, realized I don't have Greasemonkey. Put the addon there, problem solved. No one I asked before mentioned this to me specifically. So I put it down here just in case it could help someone else. |
I didnt to any dragging at all, i unzipped it opened the file in which it was RC >>Open with>> Firefox at its over installed. |
I find all of them worked well on my computer, apart from the map move script. It seems to make my map refresh and mess up! |

That's equivalent to drag the file over onto firefox...
Anyway, I can not figure out why I need the addon while no one else seems to mention it at all...
I like them. Thanks! |

Oh, I see--my bad, I misunderstood that instruction. Thought that's an alternative to the scripts somehow.... |
