Author | numbers on repair |
Hi, I searched but did not find anyone who had done the numbers on why repairs are interesting:
Turns out I have been running some numbers and it doesn't look like repairs is ever interesting, selling back and buying again turns out cheaper (unless you enchant the weapon of course).
Anyone know where I can find this?
Thanks. | https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=39
Repairing is for hunting, enchanting, or rare arts.
Even with 90% repair, repairing is never good for ordinary arts unless the smith does it for free :) | Thanks,
actually for ordinary arts the result I am getting is close to the repair efficiency of the smith, for the first repair (it falls lower after that).
So if a 20% smith assumes 80% of the cost, regular arts is actually worth it.
Of course that only makes sense when the smith wants to raise his smith level.....
:) thanks. | Actually it's close, but still not worth it.
1. The repair cost is usually slightly more expensive than just replacing it from the market.
2. Repairing decreases max durability by 1, so 20% repair isn't truly 20%. 20% is really 20% of the total-1 durability.
3. Each time you repair the game values your art a little less, so if you wanted to sell it back, you'll get less. | I can send you the numbers if you like.
I took into account all you mention, of course it comes out to 19,6%, instead of 20%
