Q: Do you think 30 diamonds to upgrade apparitions at level 9 is worth it?
I have never donated for diamonds and never considered using them for any upgrades. So my question is how big of an improvement are apparitions over ghosts? I have full thief set and I think that apparitions would benefit from initiative more than infected zombies. I just recently used potion of oblivion to change from reviver set up to combat necro.
If I am going to spend 30 diamonds on apparition upgrade I want to make sure it will be a big improvement and not just a minor improvement. |

| Yes I have looked at the statistic differences and apparitions look much better. But that doesnt always equate to a noticeable difference in game play. I guess I would like to hear from some necromancers with apparitions and hear there views. |
brother the difference....is massive...
Ghosts are pretty worthless. only 8 hp a pop. As someone mentioned 19 health per apparition, that is +11 hp...so just in terms of 'taking damage' the difference is obvious.
I have them, and they are awesome. I wouldn't mind having those teleporting vampires, now those, are beast :) |
| In my opinion (got a Necro alt, but not lvl 9 yet, so I don't speak for my own experience) Apparitions do not make as big a difference as, for example, Vampire counts. If I had to pick any one, I'd certainly postpone the diamond upgrade for lvl 11. But if you are considering both upgrades, I think the advantage that Apparitions give at lvl 9 to a combat Necro is high enough to go for it. (I'm talking about the overall potential, not just comparing Ghosts to Apparitions. For that comparison I think only a Necro of that level would give an exact estimation). |

Yes I think they will rock against any creature with mana, but few battles have casting creatures and they are often the among the first to be killed. I am more curious about overall difference they will have.

thanks for the comments. I have not even thought about if I would want to us diamonds for Vampire counts, thats a long ways away.
Anyone else have apparitions that could comment on the improvement over ghosts and if you think it is worth 30 diamonds to get at level 9 instead 10? |
yeap, and the mana drain is 1 apparition revived per mana... :D
Whenever I ambush an elf player I split up my apparitions 13x13x13 and drain the mana of all their stacks hehe.
Then there is the yummy mana that sprites give too. Apparitions are great. I did not buy them with diamonds, but if you can afford to, go for it. But like I mentioned earlier, and Arctic also brought up, the vampire counts are a beasty unit that if you plan on staying necro for a long time, are worth getting :)
Once I hit level 11 I'll be going back to dark elf for a bit. I like to keep at least 2 factions pretty built up so I don't get bored.
