Can a smith help me with tips? Why is it worth leveling/becoming a smith? Why do higher smiths offer 70%/80%/whatever repair cost? Does it mean they pay the rest, right?
Thanks. |
Why is it worth leveling/becoming a smith?
If you get to a high enough level, smithing will get you good income. But considering many players have high level smiths already, you'll have to reach the highest level to even start making profit.
Why do higher smiths offer 70%/80%/whatever repair cost?
If they don't, people will go to others who offer a better deal. It's all about business in the end.
Does it mean they pay the rest, right?
Yep. Smithing is VERY expensive. I suggest you do not get into it unless you're willing to pay over million gold from your own pocket. |
Thanks for the clarifications.
But still i don't quite understand this:
If you get to a high enough level, smithing will get you good income & Smithing is VERY expensive.
So how can you start making profit if you pay from your own pocket the rest till 100% of repaircost?
Lets say theoretically i am a smith 7 and i offer 70% repair. Where is my profit coming from?
thanks. |

No profit :) But upon reaching 80-90% you'll be able to charge extra, like 110+% of repair cost.

Yep. Costs about 2kk to max smith guild. |
for instance take binghuo he charges 110% repair cost for 80% repair. that gives him a 10% profit, and when he develops 90% repair he will have even more profit. |
keep in mind also that every point in smith guild means you spend 4000 gold in repair cost. So for example a smith that has 1000 points in the guild has repaired artifacts worth 1000 * 4000 = 4 million gold! |
Smithing is killer...it has cost me, personally, over 1million gold to get off the ground. So yeah, good luck!
It is also worth upping your own skill so you don't have to wait in line to get items fixed. I got tired of waiting a day to get my stuff back, so I started to build my own, and with the help of my friends...I am at 60% repairs :) |
