Well...

1) On the map, every 20 minutes, you get a hunt opinion. You can battle that to get gold and exp

OR

2) Click on the "Battles" button on the top menu and choose Duels or Group. Duels are 1v1 and Group varies.

OR

3) Wait for a tournament to occur and join that.

Don't forget that you can cast spells by pressing book button (appears on hero turn)
