i hope your dark elf is levels 1-5...because at 6+, doesn't make much sense to go magic DE in my opinion.
But then again, some people roll on magic DE until they have shrews at 8, so to each his own :)

For dark elves level 1-7:
Better have high magic spell. So arts that add spell power and knowledge is good.
For dark elves level 8+:
Better have high attack after you have shrew.
