AuthorOne question about Wizard Faction skill
Just wondering why Wizard get bonus in hunting & MG quest but no bonus in TG? Seems now that high lvl wizards have really hard time in ambushing because the amount of monsters is really large and Wizard creature is really bad for dealing with large group of enemy

I'm not a wizard player myself, and I'm not claiming to make wizard stronger, but just curious about that.
Caravans are considered as players, guess that's why there's a "hero" of the ambushed caravan that can do anything a player can.
Everyone have hard times beating caravans.

And there are wizards that have done very well against caravans for example:

hehe, maybe you should pick a better example than someone who has lost over 30 in a row. :p

No, I picked the right example.

In fact I recommend you to follow his lead. He just reached level 9, which means caravans get a nice upgrade. So he did the smart thing by purposely losing a ton of times to reduce caravan difficulty.

The game has a good caravan difficulty adjustment system. If you are a terrible thief and are losing a lot to caravans, eventually you can beat them while wearing only minimum AP arts. Or if you are a very good thief (like a good wizard thief) and win most of the time, eventually you'll all these impossible caravans.
This topic discussed the caravan difficulty adjusting:

Yes, sure you can lose countless times until the caravans become really easy or you can do what most wizards do and switch to dark elf to go past tg lvl 2 and make the caravans easier.

I'm sorry, I just don't like the idea of telling people to lose many times so you can win later. Not too mention there are tons of variations of caravans of the same factions, so losing 50 in a row won't help you out that much.

I don't like the idea either, but apparently that's what it takes.

There's something called winning too much for your own good. I'm not saying this is the only method to win, but every loss does make future wins easier and every win make future wins harder.

And I have to disagree about the 50 losses (or wins) in a row not making a difference. The caravan unit numbers vary significantly depending your wins/losses.
Here's some of my point:

To #2, yes, caravans are more like players, but they are weak in defense, so for high initiative thieves like DE and Elf, they are quite easy to break. But wizard doesn't have any one of the following type of creatures: no retaliate, broad attack, good shooter, high initiative, wizard has none of them above. So they are really weak when facing large group of high attack enemy.

Wizard is designed to be a magician. So it's reasonable to give wizard some bonus in TG. maybe not that much, but could be like damage*(4+faction skill lvl)/4 and so...

To Pantheon, yes, you could win a battle like that, but just calculate how long time it will take for you to lose 100 ambush or even longer? And imagine that an elf could win a caravan and get 2k exp at lvl 9 but you could only get <1k exp..

that's something keeps wizard away from TG
He lost more than 30 times just BEFORE he got level 4 of TG .. I suggest to follow what he did, but the most important is THE MINI-ARTS are planted at the troops ^^ I think that is one of the key of his succeed :)

He is a newbie at level 9, but has got leve 4 of TG, means he is great :)

You are assuming that that DE would win that caravan and not lose it as badly as the wizard. I'm not going to say all the races are balanced like how the mods always do, but it's not like how you make it sound with DE players breeze thru caravans no problems while wizards can't thief at all. There are many wizards that do TG well. It is just that different races require different strategies. DEs as you pointed out just rush in. Wizards on the other hand may need to do more hiding in the corner.

When I do TG as a knight, I don't charge in like I would do as a DE. As a knight I do a more defensive strategy because I know that most caravans move first.
Sorry for the wrong word means : AFTER not BEFORE :) forgive me .. :)

for Pantheon: yupzz better use escort and add more defence :) but bored tactic .. always the same and the same :)
