Does raise dead raise after the hp reduction or before?
For example, if the spell is used on a perished vampire stack that's never been raised, and the spell raises 120 hp, would 4 vampires be raised (120/30), or 5 (120/24)? |
yes it would raise more men based on HP. |
i gues 120/30...i don't raise any more vamps after any number of raises... |
120/30. I have tested it before.
But the curious thing is that even after they have been raised a couple of tie, I still get 4, not 5 (120/24) or even 6(120/19). Just 4. |
if you start with a stack of 7 vampires, 4 of them die, you can never raise 6 of them. Because then your stack would be 9
And its impossible to get more vamps then you started with |
necropolian: raise dead is based on the initial unit's HP. Thus, if you raise vampires with a SP=0, it will always be 4 (120/30), regardless of the numbers of raises already done. |
I venture a guess that it's handled like in HoMM. There the raise effect is scaled down according to the health point reduction, so if you use the raise spell on a stack that was raised once you will only raise 80% of the health points in the spell description. |
When you cast the Raise Dead:
HP of spell (120hp from your example) are added to the unit's current HP (0hp, as your vampire stack is slain).
Then, raised penalty is applied. 20% for undead, 40% for living.
0+120 = 120hp. 120/30 = 4 -> "Necropolian raises 4 Vampires."
30*0.8 = 24 -> their maximal HP is now 24.
So you get a stack of 4 vampires with 24/24 current HP.
What would happen, if you raise them once more?
96+120 = 216hp. 216/24 = 9 -> "Necropolian raises 5 Vampires."
24*0.8 = 19 -> a stack of 9 vampires with 19/19 HP.
P.S. Necropolian, sign your additional character, and post messages with your main one. Before it's too late =) |
