Main-Alt switching

AuthorMain-Alt switching
Now with BOW blocks no longer available, what are the rules for a person switching his or her main character to the status of an Alternate (or multi) and switching one of his or her Alts to the status of a Main?

Without blocks, a person can easily keep switching between the two as long as she declares them properly on her profile which is a main and which is an alt. This will result in characters being able to do things that alts cannot during the period it holds the status of a main (repairing for people, renting TGI, etc).

Are we no longer allowing such switches?
afaik, main-alt switches are allowed only _once_

and after the transfer, the alt (if higher level) can no longer rent out TGIs, work as smiths or enchanters.
How can we enforce that the switch happens only once without the BOW?
We need to remember who has already switched once?

Looks like a can of worms to me...
We need to remember who has already switched once?

the switch needs to be mentioned in the profile of both the chars, otherwise it's reportable in case infringements happen... but without the BOW bans, taking advantage of this situation is very very easy.

*sigh* more cheating methods are unearthed with the worms

(just an idea - maybe the forum mods can give the alt char a looong ban with appropriate reasons like //this used to be main of xyz. this will act as a nice red banner to know whoswho and cheater sweepers can keep a tag on them if suspicion arises)
i think its stated in the rules somewhere afer main alt switch if the previous main has enchant, smith or thieving records the main should be blocked..

I know, but since we don't have BOW, the previous main cannot be blocked.
Yes, this is a wonderful loophole in the rule (again >.<), and yeah we should give them a really long ban (*chuchkels evil*)
No loophole, not anymore at least. If your main-turned-multi has been doing stuff forbidden to multi he'll be blocked once discovered. End of story.
