AuthorPassword Transfer
Hi all,

I just read in another thread about 'password transfer' and that it can result in a block. What exactly does this term means and where can I read more about it?

I would think (if I take the term in its literal sense), it would mean someone is quitting the game and passes his account/password to another player (which wouldn't really bother the player since he has decided to quit anyway).

Thanks in advance.
a person logging in for somebody else is basically what it means. since you can't have 2 people on one account
Reference: General rules (https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=5)

3.4. It is forbidden to try to access passwords of other players.

3.7. Password transfer to a different user and collective account managing are forbidden.

Password Transfer is when a group of people to play only on one account or when a single person helps other people to manage their accounts.

Multiple people on a single account can cause problems of a character doing things that the player does not want to claim responsibility for (I didn't agree to XXX, my friend did. Talk to him when he plays this account on Tuesday" and also shrink the player base.

Having a single person manage multiple accounts is calling your friend to help you and your other friends to enroll while you all are at work or something. this disadvantages other players and also increases the possibility of property loss. "He sold off my TGI without my consent when he was helping me enroll..." kind of complaints are being avoided through this rule.
Hmm.. ok, thanks, I got it.

What I don't quite get is since I have seen a lot of players state in their profiles they play from home, work, friend's house, libraries, internet cafes etc, how can an admin actually tell (and thus block) if it's someone else logging into another person's account? It's almost impossib;e to know for sure unless the person owns up, which is highly unlikely since he/she is doing something that's already against the rules..
for Jedi-Knight:
There are ways. But often is by the person making a mistake and saying something she shouldn;t.
What about you transferring your account to someone who hasn't got another account? So he would have only one account. Is that allowed? It won't affect the gameplay or the character- he could just change the password so the previous owner can't access it again.

But it is still under this rule:
3.7. Password transfer to a different user is forbidden.

But it can't be identified if they play on the same IP- at a club, ect.

No, That would still be getting someone to manage your account for you.

So you MUST only use the accounts you created at level 1? One of my friends wanted my account since he just got blocked. He didn't want to start again. So i can't give it to him? I guess that's too bad for him...

Anyway, thanks for the reply
for Magico1:
Yup. No transfer/sale/whatnot of an account you did not create yourself.
