It means you can choose one of your 4 stats to improve.
On your Character page, you can see that you have 4 stats:
Attack, Defence, Knowledge and Spell power.

Whenever you raise a level, you can improve 1 of these stats. You click the [+] beside the stat you want to increase on your character page to do so. |
