AuthorDiscussion: The Rules, Empire, Community, Improperness, Law.
Greetings =)
Some Rules are unclear to you, have some doubts or you have any ideas?
Let’s discuss!

You think there are some problems within Empire (like 'Sulfur dune is dried out')?
Tell it!

The problems are not with the rules/Empire/whatever, but the Community itself is the reason instead?
Share us your thoughts!

You think something is improper or something bad has happened to you – and you just stopped by to leave a ‘whining-post’ here?
Not a good idea here, but, uhm.. Thanks anyway! Try better next time, please.

Do we have a problem with Law?
Let’s settle this once and for all!

So-o-o, the RECoIL thread is open!
Good conversation, constructive criticism, valid points and such – are welcome. Flood, going too far off-topic, flaming, etc. - are not, of course – as these keep others from discussing the situations/problems comfortably, make reading the thread difficult, hinder overall progress, and what not. Thanks for your understanding.
At last a Mod took the initiative to do something like this that will help all and stop, hopefully, a part of the whining, or rather prevent it. So thanks for it cepruyc.

On subject now, the most unclear rule seems to be the "giveaway combats", which created kind of an uproar recently.

So in pvp (duel, group battle or ambush) it's illegal to giveaway xp/fsp to the opponent by letting him kill some of your troops when the outcome is predetermined.

On the other hand, in hunt assists and merged hunts it's not prohibited to let the co-hunter have some extra xp/fsp by passing some of your turns in order to share the killings.

Also if traveling with one troop and you get ambushed, it's legal and not considered as staged/giveaway battle (excluding some cases where a multi travels and gets ambushed by the main or some friends stage ambushes).

I asked another relative question on forum :
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1863946
In some cases when I assist someone and the hunt is easy (I mostly assist in easy hunts so if the other player is afk we win anyway) I leave them kill 60-80% of the creatures as the other player may have miss clicked or he didn't know the hunt would be so easy and I consider right to let him kill most of the creatures himself. Is that legal?
And the answer was :
It would be legal as far as the rules stand today...mostly because you're playing together with that player rather than against him (like in a PvP).

I'm telling all that just so players understand what is legal and what not.

P.S : We'd be glad if any case of an unclear rule leading to a punishment would be published here in order to learn it before getting a warning-fine.
for cepruyc:
thanks for making this topic we needed one like.

we all know that are admins are working on this server just like .RU,and maney plans are ahead of this succesfull server, but what bothers me is why don`t adminsgive some sign about them beinghere,i`m not saying like refunding sulfure dune or making new facilits,i mean like messages and stuff like this to give us atleast a hope of the future in this world.

Cheers!
i have a question:

you aren't allowed to swear or anything but the neutrals and the mercenary guild peoples swear . . . is there anyway to get rid of that?
we have no control over the creatures watch your words during hunts ;) they repeat wat u and others say they are parrots
for Tetzeal:
we can`t,but we do and sometimes we don`t get cought, and neturals copy`s it and reply it sometimes
for Tetzeal:
For neutrals, we can't do anything about it since they only repeat what players have typed in before
For the Merc Guild... i don't know if the admin will change that... But I'm sure they know about it (many people have brought it up before).

for Erekose:

The answer you have been given is correct. But you have to understand that that is not absolute. There can be situations that letting the hunt initiator get kills can be seen as an offence if used to exploit the system. Letting the Assistant get kills is ok generally, not in extreme conditions, it could be an offence.

Or at least in my opinion.

I present a situation:
A person, the Hunt Initiator (HI), asks for assistance from his best friend, Assistant Friend (AF) for a white/clear hunt.
In the Battle, HI walls himself up in a corner and does not attack at all except for once with his hero, leaving everything else to AF.

HI gets about 1 exp and about 0.01 fsp (for that one hit) and gold (and possibly skeletons). His hunt increases by a fraction (because he only got 0.01 fsp)
AF gets tons of xp and 0.5 fsp and his hunt numbers won't change at all.

Is this a form of payment for exp (HI get the gold, AF gets the exp), an exploit for exp gathering (HI and AF reverse roles for AF's hunt the next time), a extremely slow way of getting a good xp/fsp ratio? (1 exp for 0.01 fsp will result in 100 exp for 1 fsp in 100 hours) or a perfectly normal, non-punishable situation?

It's rather hard to decipher...
Thanks to Takesister, giving me a good example of a clear and understandable post.

I know it might look a bit stupid but it will be easier for all to read and understand each others.

English isn't my first language like a whole bunch of people here, but I still try to write proper english limited by knowledge of the language.

Is it possible for all that post in forums to use proper English.

Proper English as in : No slang other then cutting the not (example : can't) and put space where it is needed. After comma, period and especially between words. (example of not using it : Thistext, surelooksgood, ishardtoread.Dontyouthink?)

Sometimes it's so slang or jampacked that I don't understand a bit of what the person was trying to say and need to ask someone else what in the world that person was saying.

Here is a forum rule about what Im request.

4.2. It is forbidden to post messages preventing the users from comfortable reading the content. As an example, posting messages with an extremely large amount of characters without spaces will result in warping the forum structure and hence is prohibited.

That's a completely different case than the one I presented, but a good example. Btw if they do so they'll have a terrible HG level, as they'll both get about 0.1 HG points per battle and the AF gets full xp for only 0.25 fsp, so it'll be bad for both in the long run.

I think we should present some questionable examples like these and wait from Κeepers to respond about their legitimacy so we know if we should avoid them or not.
for Erekose:
Actually it's very good in the long run. It's slower that the old "Lose and still get fsp with no xp" trick, but you can, using this method, get a high faction level at a low combat level.

And I assure you, I'm not presenting some questionable examples without already seeing people doing said trick..

I'm saying your example is ok. But if we declare with a sweeping statement that it's ok to not attack and allow your opponent to kill you as long as the opponent is not a human player then many loopholes will open.
Wow, do people really do that? It seems very very very boring.

I sure understand what you say and I said that this particular example is ok, not everything concerning hunt assists.
My question:
A big deal was made over clan page bumps a while back and it is now strictly enforced. The motives of the clans were to advertise to get reader's attention for recruitment purposes. Right or wrong it was a means to an end. So the law has been set in stone and things have calmed down. No problem, done deal.
Why then is a nonsense thread like this allowed to continue?
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1860265

This "Draw of Prizes" thread promotes flooding of the forum. Some other threads that give away prizes at least give brain teasers for the winner to collect so it is constructive and interesting.
Modi,

The stopping of the bumping on the clan forums was because it almost became a bump competition as to which clan thread would be bumped to the top (and thus displayed on the main page's summary list). It became not fair to the clan which did not have that many active members since the bigger clan had more members to help bump

Bumping has been allowed on the trade forum since there are many threads by many people and within hours your thread will get shifted to the bottom or even the next page if you don't try. And everyone is ok with it since everyone just takes care of their own thread or their friends'.

As for the Off-Game forums, it is better to provide an controlled isolated outlet for 'bump-ers' and 'spammers' than to have them be loose on the entire board. No harm is truly done there since it does not affect the game.

I guess if enough people think that such bumping and spamming should not be anywhere on the boards, you can gather up a petition to stop all bumping and spamming on the entirety of the boards. I'm sure the mods will happily stop the spam/bump threads.

But I see it as letting kids play in a specified playground/sandbox so they will leave the adults alone to have a proper discussion.
Clan threads bumping ended with the release of a set of local rules for the clan forum.

Now, I'm only expressing my personal opinion:

Threads like the one you mention are in the off-game forum, where posters are usually given more freedom - not only over the topic but also over the way it is used by the community.

Moderators so far seem to have accepted a *low* level of flooding in this very forum section, limited to a single thread of this sort. A way of letting our youngest and most enthusiast players express their will to communicate... Still, not everything is tolerable even there and there has been some banning when people posted illegal comments, like insults, or disrupting comments, like a message 2-3 screens high.

This policy may change at any point in time and without notice. If any moderator feels this level of flood is not tolerated, he/she can close these threads and no one will have any ground to complain.
But I see it as letting kids play in a specified playground/sandbox so they will leave the adults alone to have a proper discussion

I love that answer. lol
Clan threads bumping ended with the release of a set of local rules for the clan forum.

I already stated that in so many words.

I am working on a project in that section and the title alone would draw readers to have a look if they never go to the off game forum but as soon as I make a post, it gets knocked off by the stupid flood topic. Communication as in " spam spam flood flood, +,+...?" Yes, I see how that is very constructive. There are PLENTY of topics in the forum to communicate on. Let the nonsense continue...it's so good for us all to draw 5000 stupid posts and have it dominate any other real threads that people work on in that section. Got ya chief.
I need my thread Murderers Gangsters and Madness moved to the creative section and away from the dumb flood topic please. Thank you.
I also have ideas for other projects not related to the game and I want permission to post them in creative works and away from the kids section. A "This day in History" thread is one specific title and it would be nice for it to be seen for more than one second on the main page.
So, I propose that Mods make an additional rule
***************************************************************
Each clan only allowed to update it's clan thread in Clan Forum for maximum 1x / day.
