my idea:
every 20 minutes starts a Arena fight and you can bet on 1 of 2 stacks of different monsters
for example:
24 Druids fights against 30 Magi = bet on druids for win or lose. bet on magi for win or lose. winnings are the double of the bet.

nice idea, but given that AI are extremely predictable you are mostly betting on are whether that morale boost happens.
Instead I rather change it to Farmer monster{2} against Magi monster{0}. Basically monsters from different tiers and {x}.
And of course the Arena Management House takes let's say 10% of all winnings. |

Not necessary. Make it like sports betting. House takes 5%-10%, two sides bet. When one side wins, the other gets the gold divided. If you bet on the side that is overpowered, you get less gold because no one bets the other side.
Make it once/twice per day so everyone could watch.

Of course this wouldnt work, if we are talking about one game for everyone to observe for fun.
This might be fun and it could work but we should let it stay as a concept. There are more pressing matters right now.:-) |
if such betting would happen then I will agree to Omega22 about betting on favorite - then payout will be less.
The solution for such betting - you bet against other players not empire.
Like in betfair.com you bet against other ppl in the world not against bookie, like usual.
But it is too complicated to make here i think and useless - this is not betting game.... |
