AuthorAfk in a group battle should pay
I don't know how many times will I have to repeat this: There are 2 situations I may waste money for wearing expensive artefacts because of afk:
1, Duel against him.
2, GB with him.

I really don't care about his reasons, I just want my money back. Just that simple. (Or do I deserve to lose them? How?)

Each player should be fair enough to send the money himself. But nobody does this. That's why I started this topic.
A solution that let the other player take control of the AFKer's troops for their own and make use of it to gain the XP and SP remaining with those troops would be a WAY better solution.

While AFK does happen. it only happens on occassion i would hope, unless you or whoever is unlucky and gets an AFK everytime he/she plays. I would hope that someone can spare 1 durability loss every now and then. Yes, it would be nice for people to pay, but financial or greed situations will stop people. People only look out for themselves, you wanting money, me not wanting to pay if i go AFK. It happens. Just like the suggestion for a person with a bad connection, if you dont want to play with AFKers then dont play PvP.

-I think who AFK will get 0 exp , their team patner get x2 EXP even lose or win.
-If 2 Player AFK in 1 team the last patner who doesn't AFK got x3 EXP even win or lose.
-If a Team WITHOUT AFK win against a team with 1 AFK , they got 1/2 of their EXP .
-If a Team WITHOUT AFK win against a team with 2 AFK , they got 1/3 of their EXP .
-If a Team with 1 AFK VS Team with 1 AFK , which team win got x2 EXP.
-If a Team with 2 AFK VS Team with 2 AFK , which team win got x3 EXP.
+ 10 this a good idea and plus ----4 luck for 1 day it counts like 24 hour

I don't think that charging is a reasonable idea - but the admins could introduce new feat in the game - where you have combats\wins\loses count in player's page you can add ACTIVE AFK count, which would mean how many times you have flushed the PvP. as soon as the count hits 10, for example, you get a permanent -1 to luck not for an hour or two, but unless you do some really boring and long quest taking several hours, like collecting the letters of approval in every sector for dozens of times until you are released.
There was a very smart step taken on heroeswm - the time count in non-pvp battles has been deleted, so i don't take these and the thief battles into consideration, because in either of them you are losing more than just time, but pure PvP or help in battles (other than hunts, or you never get the help in hunt anymore =)
What if someone was too poor to pay that cost?
I guess if you are too poor, you get a negative balance (like if you have 0 money and the thief steals from you), and then you replenish it back :)Simple.
After some time I read this topic again and I think I have to be more specific:

Many people understood it like I wanted to punish afk more than he is now. Yes, I do, but PRIMARY, I want my money loss back. THEN, I think of who is responsible. Well it is afk. That's why I want my money loss from him. If somebody else pays me (Empire for example), no problem.

Many posts were going like "Poor afk, it can happen not by his fault etc." But this is not about poor afk, this is about poor afk's opponent (in duel) or teammate (in GB). He needs to be compensated.
That's why I think that afk should pay to the others. If he has the money, the system would sent them authomatically, if he doesn't, the system should sent them anyway and afk could do nothing but work until his debts are paid.

Dont try to cover your tracks. this pretty much says AFK should pay (p.s. read your title too) Maybe you mean: you read it, and needed to be less specific. And the Empire will not pay you back, they are trying to take money out of the game (they are the ones behind AFKers).

If you liked it or not, you completed the battle, thus -1 duration on arts. Its like eating out. The food wasn't that great, but since you were starving you ate it anyways. NO REFUND. Now, if there was an option for 0 xp, and 0 skill points, 0 ect. to get ur art duration neutralized i would be fine with that.

I just reacted on many posts that don't understand what's really going on.

Try to clearly answer this question: If a player lost his gold, not by his fault, should he be compensated?
no (thats clear). Its not my fault i loose money in roulette, the number i pick just doesnt get landed on. So i shouldn't get my money back. you were planning on playing that battle so you would have lost the duration anyways. you are gambling on picking the right battle to choose. If u fail, its kind of your faulT (YOU PICKED IT). Don't get me wrong i do see where you are coming from, but if some1 cant afford a -1 durability lose w/ no gain, then he shouldnt have battled in the first place. Yes, it is a waste, but in a hunt if you loose, you get less then an AFK battle, and you still loose durability.
You really live in a completely different world than me. I will just add two examples of your world.

1, You build a house, which gets flooded (destroyed by a windstorm, ...). Well, it's a roullete, you won't get any compensation. If you don't like it, don't build a house.
2, You are going for a holiday. You spend 1000 euros, but accidently your flight is canceled because some computer breaks down. Well, that was a roulette, don't think you should get any money back. You would have lost them anyway ("so you would have lost the duration anyways"). Moreover, poor airport with broken computer! If you don't like, don't "join" holidays.
Your right i dont live in your world. Yours must be crazy. your examples are weak. My world is better =p

1. no one said you had to build a house there. If you buy flood insurrence and wind destroys it then you will get no compensation, b/c it wasnt the flood that destroyed the house or vice versa. So, yes if you dont like it dont build a house there or by Home owners insurence.
I'll give you a real example of this. Hurricane Katrina. When people filed claims under home owners insurence, they were denied, b/c floods, waves, ect. are excluded from that insurence. thus, flood insurence was required.
2. You should get your money back b/c you paid for a flight. The flight was cancelled, so there no exchange of anything. If you completed your flight to lala land and decided that you didnt like your flight (too noisy) you cant get your money back ($$$ = flight)

You battle, (there is no way to stop a battle) you get -1 durability for exp. (exchange completed), and in views of this game it is equal. like i said before Now, if there was an option for 0 xp, and 0 skill points, 0 ect. to get ur art duration neutralized i would be fine with that. Just in case you didnt read that little part. Both parts have to be completed for an exchange.
