AuthorPenalty?
I got a message from the Admins with the following text:

Player was imposed a penalty of 5000 gold. // Bad sportsmanship (stalling) - warid=17018083

What did i wrong?? I do not kown. And i cant open this warid=...

How can i find out what they think i did?
you got it from this combat.

I'm not sure what did you do wrong but I think they take the ''waiting'' as a violation because you're not attacking the thief.
stalling for time!Bad sportsmanship (stalling)

He did waited at the last second trying to get the thief bored or AFK !
Ok, now I get it. I thought you're planning something to attack the thief.

Is it an ambush? Were you maybe waiting extra time to make a move?
I dont wanna fight those damn thief-figths!
So if i dont wanna move, they cant give me a penalty for that???

Maybe i stop gambling here in LordsWM. It is the first time that i got a penalty for "doing nothing". ... It's a poor step of the Admins ....
If you dont want to fight thief fights, use a single unit. that way thief can kill you quick and you can go on with what ever you want to. But making you and the thief wait so long, definetly deserves a penalty, imho.
imho.
What's that mean??
you can't really "punish" the thief so he will stop thieving.
I once (when i was about lvl 7) had an ambush where my opponent waited for the very last second until making his move. Of course he had no chance and i completely bashed him but since he was spreading his troops all over the field, then waiting with the spreaded troops (to get more moves to be able to wait longer) it took me more than a full hour until he was defeated. Since i watched a film while waiting for the sound telling me that it's my turn i didn't lose that much time anyway. But stealing other peoples time on purpose is really bad sportsmenship (such as joining a 2vs2 and going afk on purpose to inflict a loss to your "ally"). It does no obvious harm other than stealing time but it's so bad-mannered i too think it should be punished when done on purpose
imho.
What's that mean??

Google: taking care of silly questions before bedtime :P

Travel with one creature or nothing and the thief fights will be very short. Intentionally wasting 30 minutes of another player`s time just because you dont like this game feature is considered a bad sportmanship.

Maybe i stop gambling here in LordsWM.
If you dont see any problem with your behaviour, maybe it is a good choice.

Ways to keep thief encounters at minimum:
1.Wear little or no units(system gives you few monks if you dont recruit anything).
2.Travel less frequent routes. Example instead of yellow lake-great capital, use yellow lake-misty coast-great capital.
If you want I can send a link to a legal script that clicks travel for you, if you travel longer distances, so you dont have to refresh.
I had so often afk or leaving players on 2v2 or 3v3 or even on hunt-assists, or even those who wait until last second.
I never reported anybody to the admins, because i think THIS is bad sportsmanship but as i read here, most of you think it is ok to report.

So tell me please, what do i have to do if i wanna report players.

And i will do it now, when anybody is leaving or afk or shit like that.

Is there any button or must i write a message? If a message, who must be the receiver??
You can report them, but only if you have solid evidence.
If you review the battle you cant see how much seconds there were left at the moment he made his move.
Personally I wouldnt report them, unless
took me more than a full hour until he was defeated.

And you can report them here;

Just create a new topic.
Make a thread here : https://www.lordswm.com/forum_thread.php?id=125 when you want to report someone,
Make sure to read the local rules and follow the given format of lodging a complaint :)
Post to the complaints and abuses forum. Note that you'll have to post while the battle is ongoing, as how long each player took to make their move isn't indicated in the replay.

Personally, for GBs and stuff, I think that is annoying, although the shorter times to move, and the fact that each player might legitimately have more to think about make me wary of being too strict about penalizing people for not moving promptly.

For ambushes though, I actually think it ought to be OK. Ambushing a Lord who is just trying to work, or defend the empire, is already an unsporting act. The traveler didn't choose to join a battle, so I don't agree that any requirement for "sporting" behavior is placed on him. If he is bouncing back and forth between LWM and something else, I don't agree that he should have to stop what he is doing and focus on the battle that he didn't want. And while traveling with minimum units is an option, I also don't see any reason why the traveler should be expected to make it easy for some thief.
This seems like a strange penalty. If the Admins don't allow stalling, they should just shorten the timer.
The timer is good, you should be able to go to and grab something to eat during unwanted ambush. But making it as fast as possible is just nice and civilised in my opinion. I think I have always sent some gold when I was ambushed during breakfast and skipped few moves. The sorry should be always in place if you intentionally or not waste someone`s time.
lol looks more like a case of the Admins punishing the victim here .... To be punished for doing what ever one can to fend off an thief is rather stupid in my opinion... They guy did not do anything illegal and should not be punished at all.
19:

You're supposed to play, not waste people's time. It's like playing a football game and after every play you punch the quarterback because he completed a long pass. Its bad sportsmanship, and it is punish.

Being punished for breaking the rules to beat a team is not stupid... you cannot beat up the QB so you will win.

You cannot stall purposely- it is bad sportsmanship.

If you don't like it, please leave, the less of you on this site, the better.
