Is it better to increase all factions slowly or to reach the highest first in one in particular?
If you change factions at a high level combat, you have to build many constructions to use the strongest troops of the new faction, isn't it? |
There are different opinions of what is better ... but one thing I can tell you for sure, if you would like to build skills in more than 2 factions, then start at as low level as possible, because the cost of the buildings at higher level is very high. |
There are 2 main methods:
1.) Change factions at high combat level.
2.) Change factions at low combat level.
The problem with #1 is high building costs when you switch.
The problem with #2 is that you won't be able to get high faction levels in each faction before your combat level goes up. And also you would be relatively weak in at mid combat levels because you will only have low faction levels. |
Tip: Losing is A best way to gain more skill points with less experience. |
What are in fact the benefits of changing faction? I have seen that you get faction level *3% less damage against someone with a faction in which you have levels. Are there other benefits too? I used to think that your troops gain the bonusses of both factions (so the attack, def and initiative points you gained in each faction), but I can't find anything about this on the forum (and now it would seem strange to me anyway).
So, if I would switch from Demon to DE, would I have very weak troops, or would they have the bonusses my demon troops have, + 18% resistance against demon? |

No, they won't get bonuses from your previous faction and will be weak. |
i thinks that change faction need to who do a lot of group battles and thief |
i prefer , from start use ur favorite faction , and never change , this can save u a lot of money and ur faction level is extremely gud. |
if I would switch from Demon to DE
Then you would get DE bonus + demon faction resist.
The "bonus" part isn't just the stats, but also the racial bonus. So switching from high to low faction level does impact you. |
If you have a favourite faction, stick with it.
Change faction ONLY when you want to play that faction. Changing for the sole purpose of getting a faction resistance bonus is useless.
I know what I am talking about. |
Ok, then I don't see much reasons to change faction either. Especially not if they're going to introduce higher faction levels than 9 (and still years away from that one :D). |
Doing 15 000 + battles with one single faction can become boring.
Besides, if you play different factions you ll have some nice resistance
(faction level 5 (not that hard to reach) gives 15% resistance against all other players and caravans from that faction :D |
if you want to play more than one faction, do it when you are low combat level.
otherwise, you will have to face difficulty in playing, esp knight, wizard and necro, when you switch to other factions in higher lv |
I know what I am talking about too ^_^and I'd say: It all depends to the factions you want to play in the future.
It's probably NOT a good idea to stick to a single faction for the entire character career. Too boring, and you may end up in a bad situation (for example, being the weakest one at a given level, or having a faction ill-suited for certain tasks, like ambushing). So I'd advise everyone to choose TWO factions at least. More is up to you.
Now, here's the secret trick: if you plan to play certain factions later, you should switch early on to build up a decent faction skill level there, while you are still low level and faction points are easy to catch.
The factions you should prepare for later are:
- Knight
- Necromancer
- Wizard
And perhaps Demon.
If you plan to play Elf, Dark Elf or Barbarian later, a good "starting" faction level for your high-level faction switch is not as important.
I'd say that the faction level you should achieve for your secondary faction should be something like half the combat level you plan to have when switching, rounded up.
Let's take an example. You are combat level 4 and play an Elf, but want to switch to Knight at level 10. You are faction level zero as a Knight. Switch to Knight NOW. Fight your way to faction level 5 (hunts, mercenary, PvP, whatever) and then you can "switch back" to Elf. Yeah, that's time consuming, but doing this way will save you TONS - and I really mean TONS - of time and efforts later on.
You can't possibly imagine how hard it is to switch at high level with a faction level zero in your new faction - if it's heavily faction-dependant - until you experience it. Being playing full arts and not even able to win a green hunt... Fighting desperate battles just to get 0.08 FSP here and there... That's bad, really bad.
Take my advice and build up your secondary faction while it's still easy! |
the best way to get faction lvl in everything is concentrate on two faction upyo lvl 5 and change the faction according to ur planning.then it will be easier for u to choose any1 from that factions.i played knight in my starting lvl and now i am a de whr i have 1 faction point for knight and 3 for de.i will change to knight when i get 5 in de. |
We'll i have my first acc check out the advantages and disadvantages of all factions!
so u can imagine i created this brand new acc.that seem gr8 becasue of my knowlegde of all factions i have more chance of winning that losing.Isnt that right?
and i havent chance faction yet.(knight)i am gonna change my faction when my skill point reaches 3 changes faction to barb.then when barb reach skill reach 3 then switch bac to knight then so on.
But when i battle the other faction looks so powerfull i want to change 2 that faction and be that powerfull but as i play the faction is weak even with full upgrade...why is that?? |
If you want to win tournaments, stick to one race.
If you want to win GBs, train your nemesis faction(s)to at least level 5, i.e. the faction(s) that can easily ravage your primary race. For example, wiz ought to train for barbar, Knight against heavy chaos-magic user, Necro against super-fast/initiative faction, demon against races that can heavily incapacitate you in the 1st turn... |
Also if your nemesis faction is either a knight, a wiz or a necro, cross-train ASAP... preferable in a 1:4 ratio i.e. if your primary race has 1000 fsp, train your nemesis factions at 250 fsp? but really train to at least lvl 5 ASAP. |
